Is it cheap? well, as mentioned, tiles are excluded in the price, so if i worked out the unit price is about RM6.55 psf.

Depends. Is it 2x1 tiles laid horizontally on wall? Cause those are harder to tile thus more expensive and needs adhesive called cement gun which are quite expensive. Better decide urself whether you want horizontal or vertical and ask your contractor which one he charge for. If its horizontal, then its considered cheap in my opinion

The cost does not depend on whether the tile is laid horizontally or vertically.
I know the horizontal pattern is more popular these days.
It depends on the size of the tiles, whether they are 8x10, 10x16, 12x24, etc. Of course the bigger the higher the cost,  as smaller tiles are easier to lay.

hmm, maybe you are right about the horizon/vertical layout. but i've heard this from two sources of tiler that horizontal arrangement requires more skill. i have no stand on this since im not a tiler myself.

but bigger tiles costs much more to tile that i agree.

Hi, I intend to remove parquet and lay with ceramic tiles for 3 bedrooms and staircase. House size is 20x65.

Any good tiler to recommend?

For those who experience, do you know how much would it cost, excluding tiles.

Thanks.

Why would you want to do that? Tiles get very cold and not suitable for bedroom especially when there's AC. You get cold hard feet when waking up on tiles. Get laminated flooring instead. Price wise not much difference.

Hi there, got a price from a contractor to lay a 800mm x800mm tiles for my living hall. Tiles i buy. Total 86pcs include skirting, water proof, all material, n lower some floor at the main door area. He quote me RM7000. is it reasonable?
*
Reasonable i guess. But why need waterproofing. Isnt that for toilet only? Another thing, for the skirting, get another color like white. It looks so much better. Nt reli nice if same color as floor.

Yes, for workmanship only. How?

Ops, my mistake. Also this is using 800 mm tiles, meaning 2 and half feet tiles. Are you sure you want to lay such large tiles? Larger tiles charge differently.

I changed my house door and since they changed the frame, a few tiles need to be broken as well...

Now I need to tile it back... I have the tile... I need a Tile Cutter and something to stick the tile to the floor....

Any idea how much a tile cutter cost?
And what is it that I need to paste the Tile to the floor?

Thanks.

Tile cutter (the one look like old-style typewritter one.. manual type, pull then press down to cut) can only used to cut tiles 2 inches or more.. longer than that, you will realize the tiles keep breaking.

So to cut smaller tile, you need to use the machine cutter, use electric one. Cut also need to be extra careful.

To paste the tiles, you need cement, sand, tile grout and water. You can paste and cut them yourselves but they will probably look like crap if you have absolutely zero experience. Tiling is not as easy as it seems. In terms of difficulty, it is labeled as 'Advanced'.
