Better decide urself whether you want horizontal or vertical and ask your contractor which one he charge for. If its horizontal, then its considered cheap in my opinion
The cost does not depend on whether the tile is laid horizontally or vertically.I know the horizontal pattern is more popular these days.
It depends on the size of the tiles, whether they are 8x10, 10x16, 12x24, etc. Of course the bigger the higher the cost, as smaller tiles are easier to lay.
