hi everyone, i really need your HELP!

i want to redo my kitchen top and one side of my bathroom wall, so i ask a contractor to come my place and quote the price. the quotation he gave is around RM6000 involve tiles. but it is way beyond my budget...plus i don't think this small project will cost this lot (kitchen top is L shape, bathroom is just one side, both are quite small scale, please see pictures attached). I really really need your advice here - normally it will cost how much? where to find a cheaper contractor?
