Normally what to do if facing like this? Are inside cement not enough? I also heard some contractor have mix cement with plaster ceiling material to make it strong stick tiles.
QUOTE(dreamchaser88 @ Aug 21 2013, 08:31 AM) My house tiles popup this in the morning after a whole day raining on day before (guess the whole day raining make the room temperature change cause the pop-up) After doing so much research online, most people recommend hack all the tiles on the whole area and redo it. But i was kind of worried the work cause my house so dusty, was thinking just to replace the pop-up part and also the tiles that I can feel "emptyness" when I step on it. Any bro sister got good contractor to recommend? Besides, I was also considering changing to laminate flooring. Any comment? Thanks. ![]() |

Last time my contractor say RM400 install tile at store room. BTW are Susu very important? Where can buy? Are we can buy give contractor for adding more in tiles?
QUOTE(sovietmah @ Sep 25 2013, 09:47 AM) If you means RM5 for just labour charges, then it is super too expensive. Indo worker labour only is bout Rm1.1 psf Chinese tiler labour bout RM2.5 psf If chinese tiler labour + cement + susu about RM4.2-5.5 psf. Just imagine your labour psf is RM5, cement, susu, sand already RM3-4, tiles per sq probably RM4-5. Means if you want to do 1000sq then ur need to fork out RM15 x 1000 which is RM15000 already. A OK price Rm8-9K can done ur RM15K work, why pay more if your quality is not align with the price. |

I think need ask contractor how much he charge per sf. Last time he just give me lum sup price only.
I have heard before when see tiles. The sales person inform me why tiles will pop up later because the susu not enough. What you think? QUOTE(sovietmah @ Sep 25 2013, 09:56 AM) lum sup Rm400 for store room is reasonable i think. the area is small, and difficult to work. and then if you do more area it is cheaper if u calculate per sq one. the susu i not sure how lowyat forumer defined it, but it is not those pure cement, only specialize for tile, or else if u use those panda cement, the tile will pill off in future. Means, if you are laying a tiles, the lowest level if cement, but the layer that tiler put on the tiles before lay the tile on floor/wall is called susu. probably got some english technical name for it but i not sure. |

Car Porch developer already do concrete floor with stamp. Just think how to wash only.
QUOTE(sovietmah @ Sep 26 2013, 10:24 AM) Can choose porcelain but could be very expensive for wall. ceramic wall tiles also easy to drill holes, so it might not crack easily if u want to install towel bar, mirror etc items. because the ceramic is soft. But better dun use ceramic for floor, especially car porch and common area. coz easy to peel off one and once peel off then very obvious can see tio already. |

I simply calculate those area need hack, trim & lay back.
1) Kitchen Wall 80pcs 2) Kitchen Floor 20pcs 3) Master bathroom 20pcs 4) 2nd bathroom 20pcs 5) 3rd bathroom 20pcs 6) add some -+ tiles. Total RM1200.00 QUOTE(sovietmah @ Nov 28 2013, 09:54 AM) To lay 1sq tiles about RM4.2-Rm5.5, and then the price not include tiles price but include material price. Ur case summore need to trim the hacked tiles properly on each side of the current tiles, which is a lot of work. and he also have to replace any accidentally cracked tiles. Personally I think Rm1.2K is reasonable but maybe on the high side. |

Nice tiles.
QUOTE(sovietmah @ Jun 12 2014, 09:40 AM) 2 feet x 1 feet = RM6.50 is reasonable. even white horse one also need cost RM7.00 already. take porcelain tiles, and pick up some non-slippery model k. You can use 2x2 too but i think put 2x1 in horizontal way will make ur car porch looks wider. https://www.dropbox.com/s/ngulf0cuzono5nh/IMG_2112.JPG |
