hi guys,

Juz want to share my feeling.I have been working in commercial firm for three month and just been confirmed.
But there is no increment for my salary. And their excuse is my performance is not good enough.
Actually sometime i work overtime for this company and their not even paid overtime money.
Yet I do make some mistakes in my job and all of it because i think that this job is too boring and disturb me mentally.
It is a simple job actually and what I need to do is just copy and paste data from excel.
I really feel I no content with with job and i can't focus on doing it.
Should i resign from this company and find company that really suited me?Thanks
If i continue to do it i think my performance will also same..................

if u think u can't improve yourself working there...just find other place, make sure u got the place first before u leave...don't just follow your heart unless u don't hv any financial problem if u r jobless...

1) There is NO rules tat says u r entitled for increment during confirmation unless stipulated in employment letter/offer letter.

2) Ur excuse for making mistakes due to the "boring job" is a stupid one. Dun blame the boring job if you can't perform as required. It is UR fault

3) If it is not what you want to do, get out of the place. Nobody is stopping u.

You have already answered yourself why your performance is not good enough. Do not blame on the company for not giving you a raise when you already admitted it yourself your shortcoming when doing the work. A simple job and yet you can make mistakes just because it is too boring. Giving excuses to justify yourself when you have not done your best is not what an employee or an individual should have. Before the start of a job make sure you be very clear of job scope and whether or not it's right for you. Good luck in finding another job if you choose to and please do not waste your time and your boss' for the next job.

Since your company is not willing to pay increment.... then you just don't need to pay extra effort on work... simple as that...

Put yourself in your employer's shoes and tell me whether you deserve a raise.

Either way if your job is boring go look for another but do not be surprised if it is not too different from current one.

working itself is already boring. most important is what you think of the job. if you don't like the company and don't enjoy what you doing, then go ahead to find a more suitable one

really pity those who work at chinaman company.... after confirmation still no increment...even RM100 or RM200 is better than no increment at all...

no wonder motivation is so low at those company...

@Mamulamoon
Its not only chinaman company that is like this. SOME MNC's also do not increase your salary upon confirmation.

Sorry to say, but this piece does not deserve much pity from me. Same goes for the rest of the public if this scenario were discussed openly. As the others have already pointed out rather clearly:

1. It has never been a global policy to increase one's wages, even after confirmation. Where do you get that assumption from?

2. Companies are not required to explain as to why your salary has not been increased, unless they have committed to some form of increment in black and white.

3. Mistakes are normal and all part of the job. It is the motivation behind these mistakes that make all of the difference. Approaching a job with a completely wrong set of attitudes will naturally hamper your progress in that company.

4. Accuracy is a primary requisite for Data Entry (as this task would be otherwise classified) type roles. No offense, but whatever gave you the idea that you could make mistakes "here and there" and get away with it? Very simple rationale - If you kill all of the plants that you have ever touched, should you be blaming others when they claim you're a bad farmer?

It is no wonder that you're not content with your job and cannot focus on it. I'd suggest that you move on and find a better fit. Hopefully, once you find a better fit, conditions will improve, both for yourself and the company. However, I would strongly suggest that you drop this externalization and projection coping mechanism you've got brooding over there. It is not only unhealthy, but only serves to demonstrate that you do not have what it takes to be a strong leader in the future.

REAL leaders find solutions to challenges and work around them with the resources that they have. Wherever necessary, leaders will innovate by creating new tools and solutions to complex problems. Followers will only complain that they are not equipped properly to solve problems to tasks that they are trained to do.

Making mistakes are normal to me. Unfortunately most employers don't think so (unless you're lucky enough to have a boss who's really down to earth)...
Anyway depends on what you want in life? is career a very important part of your life? if building a career matters to you, perhaps you should start looking for another job?

same like my colleague, the management even extended her probation period and in the end, confirmed her but no increment was given. imo, go for another job as you sound not so happy with the current one.
