anybody here have old vios change their headend unit to aftermarket like pioneer etc??
for the break part... dowan dust..  look for more ceramic type...

bendic metal king is good but it blend it metal so it eat into ur rotor faster..  and metal to metal..  sure have noise...
*
You mean FL 07 or pre FL05?
Mine 05 changed to Pioneer cos those time Toyota gave cassette type wink.gif
Since mine E, it comes with a plastic to cover the hole which G don't have as its double DIN type originally. So have to source for that plastic cover.
BTW, the head unit wont be able to accommodate the frame of the head unit, so it wont looks good.

That's the whole point I'm asking if there are other alternatives since the ori brake pads from the SC will cost a bomb and at their price tag, might as well straight get something better already. So now I'm scouting around for options first before making a decision. Seems like the Bosch PowerPlus is one option.
*
How much they quote u in SC for ori? Last time I was quoted local ori at RM170/pair & import Ori at 270/pair shakehead.gif
I didn't know Toyota SC have 2 kinds of ori brake pad rolleyes.gif
So end up get from outside.

Regarding the brake pad, better get other alternatives if you are not getting it from the Toyota SC.

Last time my friend who working in a car shop told me that most of the car shop will give you a so called 'original' brake pad from Toyota if you request them to give you a original brake pad @@
*
Problem is Toyota SC themselves are having 2 type of originals shakehead.gif

ori pad for vios got 2 version
if ur rear brake is drum, then the pad for front is RM230
if ur rear brake is disc, then the pad for front is RM220
original toyota from JAPAN
*
I'll accept if they tell me this version.
Problem is Import Ori RM270/pair is from Japan
Local ori is RM160/pair
So much difference & what do they mean by local ori?
My guess is they use 3rd party pads which is cheaper & market it as Toyota Ori.

depend on ur driving style

I think should be able to fit 186/60/14 as vios 05 ori rims can fit that size.

Try look in viosclub malaysia forum, should be able to find some of them selling.

anyone knows how many more km you can go when the last bar is blinking faster?

also, is there any manual aside from the service booklet? want to know the items used in the car like bulb specs (from forum got to know headlights are H4 and fogs are H11, backlight?), etc in case want to change...
*
Tried almost 50km on last bar. But make sure not jammed area la. Think the safe figure should be ard 35km.
Think H11 are vios 08 onwards. 05 vios use H3 & FL 06 use another code, cant rmb.

Last time read somewhere that the capacity for 05 vios is 45L consist of 42L normal & spare 3L (not sure how true), thats y u can see some can go far but some not.
But current vios capacity is lesser, at most 42L.

Anyone have problem with alarm ownself trigger?
Mine always triggered i suspect is the tilt sensor on the roof. I wonder can DIY remove or disable it or not cos my warranty already over.

If you see my posts in the previous 2-3 pages, you will know that I face this serious problem. My car alarms triggers a few times every morning when weather is getting hot.
*
Is the cars black? Last time face the same problem. Apparently black color cars prone to these issue (at least for 1st gen). Last time check cant find the cause, just being told that black attract too much heat hence the alarm triggered. But now no more problem. Not sure why exactly.
