My 'wong wong wong' sound is getting louder and just found out my Vios dugong 07 bearing getting worse, just change the rear-right bearing - the whole assembly part come as a whole - bearing with sensor and can't be dismantle just to change the bearing part... cost RM480 + workmanship. Heavy damage.
My both front also exhibit some bearing problem but both were overriden by the even louder noise of the rear-right bearing. I delay a bit the replacement as my pocket not deep enough to change tires & bearing together.
4yrs old Toyota car... can't last like the old times.

Probably without ABS they can save a little without the sensor built-in.

I got 1st batch of Dugong G. My experience for NVH, Honda Civic is only a bit better. And Altis is tiny bit better than Civic. And Sylphy is whole lot more quieter than both. For MyVi surprisingly my experience told me is a tiny bit better than Vios.
p/s: I drove and sit as rear passenger for the car above.
pp/s: And I feel Lancer is in the same league as Civic too (just only rear passenger). (or a bit worse)

Even Lexus LFA engines (1LR-GUE) is not using Valvematic - only dual vvt-i. In terms of LYN F&F intelligence (Toyota fanboy & anti-fanboy) this means Altis engine = LFA engine. This post has been edited by dstl1128: Sep 14 2011, 11:20 AM

Mine is 1st batch Dugong no remote trunk. So far no problem pulling from driver side or using a key.
Btw, so far I have identified 3 bearings malfunction and noisy. It is 4yrs already and I've just replace one (rear right) costing me rm500 (with labour). I'm thinking the both front would be around 1k if unlucky. WTF my old Toyota 15yrs+ and another one 20yrs also no such problem.
If that the case is the Vios that high maintenance (no longer a Toyota trait)? Cars like MyVi even if every 4yrs bearing change, each around rm150 - Vios bearing cost 3 times more than MyVi.
I'm thinking of downgrading...

The 1st thing I saw is the left one then the right one. The car last . QUOTE(kenji1903 @ Sep 22 2011, 07:45 AM) kelisa engine mounting RM600, high maintenance? My City VTEC front bearing kong at 99.9k km.. Only less than 2years, each front i was quoted RM450... But claimed warranty Not bad 99.9k. Mine before 60k 3 bearing kong. Toyota reliability worse than Honda. I'm not sure about Kelisa engine mounting... but if Vios engine mounting probably 3x the price?

QUOTE(dogbert_chew @ Oct 18 2011, 10:58 PM) I just replaced my 2007 ViosE cracked windscreen at Section19 PJ. Drove there around 10am, the windscreen was replaced and collected the car by 2pm. Since I insured the windscreen with MSIG at the same branch, they did the paperwork internally. ... After paying for it, submitted the claim for RM600 to MSIG at Section19 and waiting for refund via cheque to be sent. ... Is your NCB reset to 0 after the claim?

Rear bearing have two type.
Genuine Toyota - One thailand, one japan. Thailand one around rm500+, japan one around rm800+. Stockist price, exclude replacement charge. Not sure Toyota SC uses which one and quote 1.3k.
Alternative one (Daihatsu) around rm380~rm400+ (include replacement charge) as I use this choice.
Front bearing only got one type Toyota Genuine is rm150, from stockist price. No idea on alternative.
p/s: if I remember the prices correctly.
