Have a 2006-2007 Vios. Very bad fuel consumption and gutless power. Full tank can only go about 250-320 tops.
(Even worse than my 20yr+ 4age or my RB25 tongue.gif )

Checked the plugs and seems like they're fine and new. Any ideas ? Is this a common problem ? Its about 7xk millage only.

Thanks.

same batch as mine.
check air filter. (IMPORTANT)
its possible OEM air filter is inside and its dirty like hell.
tuck in a new one, and CLEAN the insides before replacing it. (IMPORTANT)

mine is 100k km mileage.
and a RM70 can do about 400-450km.  whistling.gif

Fixed it i suppose, just awhile only took out the dirty air filter and tested running the car without air filter by doing "sprints" around the road, feels like a new car again. Thanks, will get a replacement soon notworthy.gif

Try to check is there any error code? if new oil, plug is ok then most likely need to clean air flow sensor and maybe need to change O2 sensor.
*
I dreaded that it might be the air flow or O2 but just now took out the filters and gave it a run, seems to be better now. Power is there, F/C will have to wait for the results thumbup.gif

As mentioned in my posts awhile back, tested the car after changing air filter and cleaned the dirty MAF sensor, regained power and f/c. Full tank about 400km+ now, just to let you guys know if there's bad f/c and gutless torque/power check your air filter and MAF sensor. icon_rolleyes.gif

glad to hear that bro biggrin.gif

may i ask how you clean the MAF sensor? sprays?
heard that thing is a bit sensitive... blush.gif

Yeah, you have to be careful with the sensor. I brought it to the mechanic and while waiting for the filter to arrive from the parts shop i opened up the MAF sensor just to have a look, and to my surprise its blardy dirty so i gave it to the mech and he cleaned it up for me.

I suppose its best to clean your MAF with a experienced mechanic since they have the right cleaner and tools and know what they're doing. Dont wanna screw up your MAF now do we. biggrin.gif
