[attachmentid=2052386]
How it happened was in front of me got an Accord lah.. Basket barger wanted to turn into summit but he almost turned into an exit.. So he e-brake lah.. I also was closely following him from the back, but due to persona extremely 'good' brakes i managed to stop in time.. (Damn need to change brake pads and back brakes to disc, tak cukup stopping power in emergency situations).. But then the iswara came from the back, overloaded with 6 ppl somemore came and humped me.. Instantly my bumper(virginity) broke, but pity the other car also lah.. All no seatbelts and airbag.. Bang like that they all kena head damage kaw kaw from the hard dashboard interior..  biggrin.gif

All go buy number.. kena ady give me 50% to help settle my car loan and modding cost..  rclxms.gif

My car insurance is first party, the other car is third party. So for my damage can i claim the iswara insurance fully? I want to claim for loss of use of car too.
*Nvr been in an accident b4 so dunno all these..  tongue.gif
*
Sorry about ur accident bro.

1st - Good move in taking photos of ur own car and the third party's car. It is ultimately very useful in case that there is a dispute. Always practice this. And its better if u take general view showing both cars in the photo.

2nd - If the other party has a third party insurance or first party insurance, if its their fault, their insurance pays for ur damages. since their car is 3rd party insurance, they cannot claim damages for their car which is pretty hard on them actually. but remember, 3rd party pays for the other pay who is not at fault in an accident.

3rd - Claim loss of use. Yes u can. But make sure ur workshop included them in ur insurance claims. Make sure its in.

4th - Kurnia insurance? Well, Kurnia used to sucks 100% to the max. But recently they are improving. Worst insurance to get are ING & Jerneh so far.

5th - Make sure.........MAKE SURE u MONITOR ur car's repair work daily. U may appear damn f***ing annoying to them but i tell you, ALL WORKSHOPS will try their best to maximize profit if you know what i mean.

I think that's all i can think of now.

Haiya sorry. tongue.gif

AVOID.......i repeat AVOID INSURANCE AGENTS. None of them are ur friends. None of them are good. All talks no good come out. Some cases, the premiums paid through them are more expensive. Want Insurance? GO DIRECT to avoid regrets.

zeng: for most cases, yes ur car will be in the workshop at least more than a week for sure. unless u can drive the car still, and have them get ready the parts before u send the car there for repairs. but then it does not look good on the resale of ur car if u drive around like that right.... so, this u have to arrange with them. some workshops have very poor workmanship i tell u. the finishing works are seriously bad that u can tell that the particular car has been in an accident. so, make ur choice of workshop carefully.

1, yeah done that cos i want to prove the damage myself in case of dispute too.. And also get the number incase the car driver decides to escape.

3, yeah i told them i want to claim loss of use.. This morning itself call kurnia to give me full explanation and procedures. Have to call the workshop to see what 3rd party insurance the other fella is using and call them too..

4, mine is kurnia, the others dunno who.

5, the boot i will make sure they change a new one, as the current one have some scratches on top due to last friday night the autogate bar at those car park only dropped onto my boot.. scratching it lah..

Initially the fella was discussing want to settle with cash.. But i insisted on claiming insurance.. those bumper, number plate, reverse sensor, boot lid and probably tail light replacement will cost him a bomb.. and he wont be able to pay up fully too..
*
if ur boot is just SLIGHTLY damaged, most of the time, the insurance company will not allow for a change. unless its bent badly or dented badly. scratch only?? then its in ur dreams la i tell u. hehehe.

the brake lights cost around RM300+ EACH. bumper forgot how much la i think around Rm300++ also. number plate around say RM14 for the numbers and holder is around say RM50? Reverse sensor quite costly already at least RM100.

eh u left out the rear bumper reinforcement beam. there's a big steel beam behind the bumper once the bumper is taken down. that is 100% bent already. Some more u open up ur boot and lift up the floor board panel and see. I am sure there's distortion in there already due to impact. Check ur boot plastic at the bottom there. See got crack or not at the plastic panel holder.

jackyyap: mine's on the right hand rear door. what i did was to spray some silicone lubricant on the rubber parts. DO NOT i repeat DO NOT use WD40 or equivalent. It damages the rubber fast.

zeng: not 100% sure but usually original parts have its own sticker stamping indicating things like the brand like Proton, what part code and what is it etc. Taiwan mari ones, usually the unpainted metal looks pretty like shit compared to ori mari ones.

Pictures taken from front till behind. Heart pain.. Bought the touch up paint and will try tomorrow. Will it work? rclxub.gif
*
its too deep already. sorry man. only way is to send to paintshop to have it touched up. rather than spray the whole door OR related body panels, u have have it "sambung cat" or aka spot spraying. Spot spraying will work fine if and only if ur paintwork is still new / top notch whereby, its not weathered due to rain and shine.

Spot spraying will be the cheaper option. Touch up paint??? u have such a big area / obvious scratch. no point and it will still be obvious.

Unless u have light scratches like i have.... then an afternoon of much elbow grease buffing will do.

jason u spray silicone at door rubber? this way can solve prob 100%??

yes it helps. but where or which part of the rubber that is up to you to find out for urself.... cuz each car may have diff. locations making noises. Like mine, the rubbers dun make noises anymore.......BUT the rear right hand door panel makes them. and some from my lower dashboard and upper.

*
yes its true. the air conditioner compressor takes up a lot of engine power once it is engaged.

FYI to others. It is a common misconception that air cond compressors takes up a lot of electrical power when it is engaged. FYI it does not. It is due to the engagement of the compressor itself to be driven on belt powered by the engine accessory drive pulleys and therefore, the heaviness of the engine is felt since the engine needs to drive another accessory.

the most electrically demanding accessory i note is mostly from the radiator fan itself as it really zaps a lot of juice from the vehicle's electrical system. second would be the headlights.

Added on February 22, 2011, 4:14 pmchange extractor does make the car much lighter to drive. changing to lighter wheels with less rolling resistance (lower profile tires) also adds to a lighter drive experience.

before change extractor, at stand still to full throttle out to the main road the car feels "chocked" like as if its blocked or somethin and in split second regained the torque and picks up. after change extractor, that feeling is non existence by more than 50%.

You will definitely feel that the engine is much more "free".

Guys, I need to go CoSE tomoro to tune my ECU. Engine light came on, asked the exhaust shop fella he said it's because the O2sensor was relocated to the bottom after nenas.
*
check ur socket. it might be loose like mine. my o2 sensor is also relocated to the bottom. so far, it happened twice. once was because i accidentally jerked the engine too hard causes the socket to come loose. second time, was no idea how it happened cuz after i restart my engine it was ok. been quite a while now no problem.

yes there was some issue of check engine light turned on due to relocation of the o2 sensor on some cars. but not too sure if campro engines suffer similar fates if relocated.

What socket? U mean the o2 sensor socket to the engine or the 1 attached to the exhaust pipe?

Have u retuned ur ECU yet? Urs is PE or normal persona with 16 bit ECU?

mine is 2009 persona with 16 bit ecu.
yes its the socket connecting the o2 sensor to the engine (more specifically to the ecu). try unplug and plug it back.
no i have yet to retune my ecu. i had it checked with PDT at SC and everything was ok. i just "reset" the ecu by unplugging the battery and it was all ok ever since.

QUOTE(xandras @ Feb 24 2011, 06:33 PM)
Confirm not my o2sensor socket prob. I just check it jz now. Tight like a virgin =D

Could it be because my battery was briefly disconnected yesterday to install my alarm?
*
try plug and unplug it.....

another thing to point out is, if the installer did not reinstall it properly eg. contaminate the sensor by his greasy fingers or worst...dropped it... it could get damaged.

like i said earlier, some cars may experience o2 sensor "failure" just because it was relocated further down the pipe line. this is due to the fact that the o2 sensor gets heated up slower than usual. BUT AGAIN i would like to stress out that i am not sure if this is the case with campro engines.

and if u find anymore information about it....please do share with us here. so that it serves as a guide and more in depth knowledge and i bet many would really appreciate.

btw, what headers u installed? pics???

Oh ya, ur o2sensor located after nenas rite? Do u sometimes experience jerkyness? It actually feels a bit like u terlepas clutch a bit too much when ur car is not moving.

my model is september 2009.

mine before the nanas. just at the connecting point of the 2-1 pipe. see below.

Another unit also 2008, Black Hi-line, RM39,800 only.  From Direct owner.

Why such big price difference?

Which one is better buy?
*
dealer marks up the price to make profit. they will use some budget to clean up the car, eg. small repairs and touch ups if necessary.

direct owner is always what u see is what u get.

and lastly, ur Persona is Persona Elegance version or before?

my header with o2 sensor at the bottom works just as fine. the fc improved pretty much actually. now i can get 6.8 / 6.9l per 100km.
