basically exact same spec as 5750G except port placement, screen size, size and weight.

i noticed that recent acer laptop have good built quality since timelineX series. and god, it's not glossy like most other manufacturers...

No, 4750G in SG has exactly same CPU/GPU as 5750G in MY. Core i7 2630QM and GT540M. And I reserved one for RM2k.... laugh.gif

Singtel give away free 4750G for broadband contract package and few selling their units.

Most software can't detect the stepping correctly.

Btw, I just got 5750G smaller sibling, 4750G with same spec. i7 with GT540. Decided not getting 4830G or HP DV6T.

Only problem so far are shit screen and really low volume. View angle is crap. Speaker volume at max is lower than baby fart....

Did some uninstalling (clear.fi, mcafee and few other junks), installed 3DMark Vantage and 3DMark 2011.

Acer 4750G
CPU: i7 2630QM
RAM: 2GB DDR3 (laugh.gif, barely 250MB free at idle, will add another 4GB soon)
HDD: 500GB 5400RPM (will replace with SSD soon)
GPU: GT540M 1GB DDR3

Temperature
Room: 29.9C (damn hot in SG, only small mounted fan about 2M away from laptop)
CPU: 45C idle, 79C load
GPU: 42C idle, 68C load, 73C OC load
HDD: 39~40C
PSU: quite warm during stressing

Noise Emission
Idle: Silent
Load: Still silent.... lol

Vantage score: ~4160
Stock speed (Core 672Mhz, Shader 1344Mhz, Memory 900Mhz)

Vantage score: ~4812
OCed speed (Core 780Mhz, Shader 1560Mhz, Memory 1050Mhz)

For reference, GT550M stock speed is Core 740Mhz, Shader 1480Mhz, Memory 900Mhz.

I bet with extra 4Gb stick in, Vantage score will be around 5200-5300 OCed. Quite good for a small 14"er laugh.gif

If anyone interested with acer 4750G (core i7, GT540M), I'm thinking of letting go mine. Price below rm2700. Warranty 1 yr, start 14 April. Can be extended to 3 yrs but cost additional 450

most vendor still using old BIOS, which label it as B2. u can physically dismantle the motherboard if you want to confirm but no need for that.

for those 5750G with i7, what's the discharge rate for battery mode with light web browsing, minimum screen brightness and muted?

Mine around 11-14W, battery only last around 4 hours (standard 6 cells 4400mah, 4750G 14")
