me owner as well

previously got 2 BSOD episodes saying driver bla bla bla... always happen if left the notebook for a long time. probably the power management thingy.

anyway, just updated all the necessary drivers today... will see how it goes.

mainly use 5750G for video editing and normal office work plus Unreal Tournament, Modern Warfare 2 and Angry Bird. So far so good!

mine got twice BSOD.... after update the video driver etc, so far so good

i think i will just change the mobo.... the mobo should be new, cannot be recond. and according to acer, that will take 3 days, of other options, will takes few weeks... i cant live without my laptop

just called by Ting from Acer HQ. 2 options given. 1st is exchange mobo and the 2nd is full refund. Full refund will take 1-2 weeks to process. exchange can be done in about 3 days unless you send the unit directly to Acer HQ in Subang which he said can be done in few hours.

I think I'm taking the first option. previously spent 3 weeks to choose a laptop and now dont want to go thru it again. furthermore no laptop is comparable to 5750G at the moment with the price paid (RM2899).

can send to highpoint and get it immediately? i bought mine from senQ. acer service called me last month regarding this and all enquiries and dealings are directly with acer... if it is true highpoint can do that, i would like to do that and buy the new one...

thats also my main concern... all the antivirus, SPSS software, MS OFfice bla bla bla bla.... i hope the replacement motherboard do have the upgraded bits (2gb gt540 and BT)..

As of current, we are still pending for the new motherboard to arrive and we do apologize for the delay.

However, if you do wish to swap the machine to the new Aspire 5750G, please do kindly bring in the complete set of your unit to our service center for inspection and once passed, we shall proceed to get the unit swapped.

i need my laptop especialy end of april n may... so have to swap rather than waiting and waiting.... i have email them whether i get it swapped faster if i go directly to subang...

So far, the information we have received is that the board shall be the same as original one. We are still pending for the shipment to reconfirm as well.

The machine swap process shall take around the same time as USJ which is around 4 to 5 working days and of course that depends on stock availability at that particular moment as well.

My Q was:
Dear Acer,

Can I ask whether the replacement motherboard will be the same spec as the revised 5750G i.e. GT540M 2GB DDR and Bluetooth 3.0?
How long will the swap procedure will take? I am in Seremban. Will it be faster if I go direct to Subang Jaya?
