just a noob question
how much effect does the Arctic Silver 5 will do comparing to stock acer one?
my got serious heating problem as i said
just wondering if i applied new paste, will it still getting 80-100 degree ~
just wondering @@

hell yeah laptops tend to overheat way too fast especially if u use it for gaming, i have the acer 5745g bote it back wen it came out i7 1st gen, send it out for warranty cuz i jz cudnt stand the overheating issues (game for 15mins b4 it shuts itself, temps up to 99C) 12 days later got a call saying thers nothing wrong with it...nw i have to collect it on friday. atleast i wud appreciate if they atleast change the thermal paste and clean the fan and compnents. IF im still having the problem, im also trynig to get my hands on the artic silver 5 change the paste myself and hope atleast a 10C reduce in temps ( anywher between 80-90 is tolerable for 1st gen laptop quads - nt good but beter than nothing)

another method to kip ur temps down is limiting the maximum state of the processor power in power plan, seriusly i had to limit my glorious i7 to a mere 5% yes 5% to ensure no crashes and not to mention low graphic settings.

i'm thinkin to extend my current warranty.. isit worth and how much normally will cost??
*
its worth extending for 3 years, most hardware has the life expectancy of 3 years which then starts falling apart depending on usage, it'll probably cost u like rm200-400 depending on brand. But if u bote the item year ago and nw decide to extend it probably cost more and well nt worth it.

but if u do that,it will void ur warranty right? hmm.gif
*
ofcuz but they wudnt noe i opened it up unless thier warranty void sticker is damaged, jz heat the sticker up, a blade and pop it goes. plus my laptop's oredy 2 years if they cant solve my problem might as well take matter into my own hands.
