Its going to be a whopping 450% increase for cars alone. Means your 2k Forte insurance will be 9k! if u lucky less 55% NCB 4k only. New cars will be effected as well as the new insurance is factored in making a 85k Forte 1.6 SX to be 92k !!! Lucky KIA depreciates very fast hence we should be glad we end up paying less insurance than our Jap frens. That's the only consolation.....

pls understand the difference between an Immobilizer - an Anti-Hijack - an Alarm

Forte has an Immobilizer you can't start without the proper key fob. Even EX u cant use a copied key to start....

but Forte doesn't have - an Anti-Hijack means if you got down left key in car or even got hijacked at a traffic light the hijacker can drive off

Forte also doesn't have - an Alarm which is basically useless in Malaysia other than making the neighbors curse you!


tell me which Euro or Jap car comes with an Anti-Hijack as standard>? under 100k?

Phasing out import of used car parts
IN SPITE of strong protests from used car spare parts
dealers, the government is determined to ban the
import of such parts from June under the National
Automotive Policy to gradually phase out imported
used parts and components.
According to a report in Nanyang Siang Pau
yesterday, the ban will begin with import of half-cuts,
brakes, suspension systems, steering parts and used
tyres. More items will be added to the ban list in time
until a total ban is enforced in 2015.
It is learnt that the Ministry of International Trade
and Industry disclosed this during a meeting with
Federation of Engineering and Motor Parts Traders
Association and Federation of Automobile Workshop
Owners Association of Malaysia on Saturday.
Federation of Engineering and Motor Part Traders
Association president Lim Wei Fook told the daily the
federation is taking a serious view of the matter and
will meet its members tomorrow.
He expected the ban would result in a hike in
prices for the remaining stock in the market.
Used car parts dealers had earlier voiced their
objection to the ban, saying it would not only
gravely affect owners of old cars but kill the used car
parts industry which is providing 100,000 jobs.
