If you compare 1.6 EX and SX, you get a lot more from 1.6 SX despite the 86k pricetag for SX such as the keyless entry, stability controls such as EBD,CBC,BAS and TCS. If not mistaken 1.6 EX only got ABS. 6 disc changer, electric folding mirrors, reverse camera, rear parking assist system, fog lamps, fully auto air cond, bluetooth handsfree, paddle shifters, telescopic steering. thats about all that i can think of. that's 7k extra for all these goodies, not worth it? The reverse camera alone is damn worth the premium over EX models!

I keep seeing ppl asking about the car resale value of Civic 2.0.
The market trend of car depreciation in Malaysia is 10% a year.
But for Jap's car like Civic, they normally depreciate 40% at fifth year while Korean car is depreciated to 60%.
I then compared both price when you sell both Civic 2.0 and Forte 2.0 five years later => You lost more than RM1800 if you chose Civic 2.0.

- free GPS or voucher tint
GPS brand is GPS with bigger screen (dunno how big) that can play movie or I can choose Garmin with smaller screen and gps function only

you're right that we are paying a premium for the extra "toys" but the most important aspect is the stability programmes (EBD,CBC, BAS, etc). I would say that other than the paddle shifters and bluetooth, the rest doesnt affect driving at all. However, 7k extra may seem a lot to you but if you factor in a loan, the additional amount a month isnt that significant (including insurance). Not to mention that if you try to add these stuff in later on (i'm referring to the toys, not the stability programmes, dont think you can retrofit those), it'll void your warranty. If you can afford the premium 7k, why not? Take the reverse camera as an example, that one is really very useful because forte's boot is quite tall and this car is a C segment car, might be tricky to park it, so with the reverse camera, it can help you a lot. Dont get me wrong, you can still park the car without that, but i think every bit helps.

Another thing you might want to consider is possibly resale value. I believe the SX version fetches better resale value and possibly better chances of selling the car despite the fact that it is more expensive (left to be seen). Sounds like you're planning to buy the SX anyway, dont worry, its worth the price. More worth that some empty car like the toyota "dugong" vios. Even the EX is more worth than the vios J

yea,i also heard the rate will increase,like next month or so..but election is near,i doubt the banks will increase the rate..(mayb SA gimmick to sell fast..)

Arrgggh......got poisoned by the new Forte 2.0 6-speed after doing my servicing today. Beautiful, especially the rear view camera and paddle shifters, but makes me regret buying the first batch now, some more the SA say got readily available stock    

if a guy with salary 3k, downpayment 30k, wan to buy EX 1.6, can afford or not?

how much is the monthly installment, i can get 2.6% for the interest rate.
