Finally after 3 days of waiting, my Macbook Air has been shipped by apple! The wait is truly painful, I hope there's no delay in delivery.

Mine was held in Subang Airport for over a week due to 'customs delay'. Gave them a call and RM 100 credited back to my account. Not a huge some of money but a very nice gesture from them  thumbup.gif

Yes, the item has already passed the custom! now waiting for the beloved deliveryman to send it to my door.

jhonsonlee, just gave apple store call and they will sort out for you. There's a nice lady named Shazlina (sp?) that can help ypu get RM100 credited back to your credit card. Also read that Apple gave people free smartcover for their delayed iPad.

Received my Air this morning, and I must say, best 4K ever spend? Kinda awkward using Mac OS though, but I'm sure I'll adapt. What a wonderful piece of engineering this machine is.

Lets say I bought those WD My Passport formatted in NTFS, what software is the best to use to re-format to HFS+? Or should I just buy My Passport For Mac, though the latter is more expensive.

Alright thanks, but what is the safest way to copy files from my Mac to an NTFS system?

I'm afraid they will all become corrupt.

Guys, wanna ask bout the battery life for the new macbook air? how was it? and long lasting ka? cause my old pc laptop only lasted for bout <1 year only (battery)..

I have the new mid 2011 13" MacBook Air, and to give an estimated time, about 6 hours on 50% brightness while surfing the web. But hey that's just an estimated guess. But I do know for a fact that it can last more than 4 hours fully charged.

For me my MacAir 13" is the best RM4000 I have ever spent in my life. You will be amazed by how fast this machines is.

But so you know, if you put in a headset into the microphone jack while watching movies,I have noticed that it took around 4 seconds for sound to be transferred from the speaker to the headset. Just a little annoyance, but nothing that is deal breaking.

Also, if you have many external HDD, you'll need to reformat it to HFS+ because thats the format that apple uses. You can access files from your old HDD but you cannot modify it.However, there are 3rd party apps that can let you copy from an NTFS HDD, though I have never used it myself.

I say if you can, buy it directly from the Apple Store, and it comes with a 1 year warranty with or without AppleCare. It took me exactly 1 week for the item to arrive at my door, and their customer service is extremely helpful.

1 - You need to buy Microsoft Office yourself, its RM480 for one user at machines. iWork is not preinstalled in the Mac so you have to buy it yourself also. Personally, I prefer Microsoft Office.

2 - No you can't do laser engraving on the Mac.

Using a MBA, it will take you about 40 seconds to boot up the laptop using Windows 7.

Of course its still fast, but nowhere near as fast as booting using Lion

I suggest you to not worry much about it. Both are equally good in real world usage.

Same as the monitor, some uses LG, some uses Samsung, but both are very, very good.
