But if you actually download larger files from US based servers, once it has a minute or so to reach full speed, still possible to max out connection. If I run a speedtest to US server, shows slow speed. If I download from US based Usenet server, can still max out to 2mb/s on VIP20

QUOTE(ayamstim @ Feb 17 2011, 03:34 PM) Not exact? It's nowhere close enough. He's correcting your incorrent interpretation of Mbps and MB/s. I always get confused between them, but the point I was trying to make initially is that I'm able to max out my connection downloading from international servers. |

QUOTE(chinkw1 @ Feb 20 2011, 12:44 AM) Dear all, 1. The feedback of the router provided DIR-615 is not good, quite a few complaints if you read around on the board. Mine broke - I didn't bother to get a replacement from TM but bought an alternative (TP Link)I m planning to get unifi vip5 installed. I m staying landed property double storey. Question: 1. TM says they will install decoder, modem wireless router, deck phone, TV decoder. How is the quality of their wireless modem router? 2. Can i use back my existing Belkin wireless modem router bcoz i afraid their modem wireless router is not as good? 3. After they install unifi, how can i change the unifi password? 4. After they install unifi, how can i change the wireless (WIFI password) such as WEP etc.... ? 5. I have a desktop computer, if i want my desktop computer to connect to the unifi thru wifi instead of using the LAN cable, what do i need to buy? Is it the usb wifi dongle? 6. The equipments they install, still belongs to them right? So if got problem, they will come to my house and fix it?? Advise plssss 2. I believe you need to still use provided router as a bridge, unless your router supports VLAN tagging, otherwise IPTV won't function 3. I don't know if the Unifi password can be changed (PPPoe password that is) anyway there's no need as it gets saved on the router anyway 4. You can login to the provided router or your own router, to change the WEP password 5. You would need WiFi USB dongle, or PCI card. 6. Not 100% sure , but I guess the equipment still belongs to them , so should be able to replace/fix if any issue. With faulty router I just replaced myself as I was worried the same thing would happen again to DIR-615 Added on February 20, 2011, 1:01 am QUOTE(IwanAGP @ Feb 20 2011, 12:54 AM) Start > Run > cmd > Tracert IPHEREEg. tracert 8.8.8.8 This will show the traffic route Eg. 1 <1 ms <1 ms <1 ms 192.168.1.1 2 22 ms 23 ms 21 ms 132.115.in-addr.arpa [115.132.109.218] 3 * * * Request timed out. 4 * * * Request timed out. 5 * * * Request timed out. 6 * * * Request timed out. Anyone here using Usenet to download? Torrents get too frustrating, Usenet nearly always full speed !
