Is there any way to use TEL2 on the Huawei BTU to map to TEL1? I wanna connect two phones to the same number. If cannot then gotta do old fashion way and split wire.

Anyone knows how to login into the Huawei HG850a BTU recent installs? I think they changed the password or something.. telecomadmin/admintelecom no longer works. Also the web interface login is only accessible for a short while after the BTU boots up. After that it becomes inaccessible (failed to connect). TM may have toughened up the security.

QUOTE(nairud @ Mar 7 2011, 02:35 PM) Then you guys dont access it and tweak stuffs? i havent get my unifi yet, tomorrow they'll come to install. Just like the Router Modem we have for streamyx, we can access the control panel page, takkan UNIFI we cant? You can easily access the D-Link router to do all the necessary config.. PPPoE, wifi, port forward etc. It's the Huawei box thats a b*tch to get in. This is where the fiber cable connects to. It handles your voip as well.

QUOTE(jitbeng @ Mar 8 2011, 01:16 AM) Try this:- Access into the router. Select "Setup" on the top menu > select "wireless setup" on the left menu. Click on "Manual wireless connection setup". Untick "enable auto channel selection". Under "wireless channel" (there are 1 to 13 channel to select), try out all if necessary to get the best signal. I have tried & so far am happy with channel 9. Don't forget to click "Save settings" below. Hope it will work for you. Yeah, this also helps improve the wifi connection for me. Previously it always fail to connect or connect but cannot get ip. I think somehow the 'auto channel selection' is messing things up.

QUOTE(Neptern @ Mar 9 2011, 06:43 PM) Finally joined the vip5 club. Here's a few issues: 1)So much for free installation and one month free.Charged me rm400(rm300 for line and stuff and rm100 for installing through the ceiling).Very lame... 2)IMHO please do change the router to another one.Using the tp link router now.For default router wifi number cannot change(for what reason i have no idea).I even gotta call up unifi call centre to get the router password. For any new subscribers just be wary of the above issues. That seems overly expensive. I only got charged rm150. With 10m extra cable and going thru ceiling somemore. The default password should be... no password! Check http://unifi.athena.my for the list of all possible ones. The wifi ssid, channel n all can be changed via manual wireless configuration.

QUOTE(badai @ Mar 10 2011, 12:15 PM) not true. you can't port your PSTN number outside your exchange. and unifi is totally different service, HSBC. but i think you can port your unifi number if you moved. i think it will take years for TM to sort out their PSTN database to enable LNP. For normal PSTN line, there's a call forwarding service, so in theory could forward incoming calls to unifi number. The only downside is have to pay to maintain old number unless TM willing to give free. Yeah, I also think true number portability is hard if not impossible to achieve. I worked with some of the telephone exchanges before.. they are really ancient beasts from the 70s. I doubt such funky per-number routing would work without some significant upgrade which would cost TM a lot of money. Not worth it since unifi market so small. QUOTE(Mgsrulz @ Mar 10 2011, 02:37 PM) they encased mine, but they used double sided tape to stick it to the wall. yes. DOUBLE.SIDED.TAPE. now i have to go out and buy some nails to nail the casing to the wall before it comes off-tape wont last forever If they use good quality tape (like 3M brand) it should last forever. However kinda odd they use tape cos nails actually much cheaper than tape.

QUOTE(rattan @ Mar 12 2011, 04:34 AM) I do realize that he dlink wireless router is not very compatible with mobile phone wifi. I changed the settings to 20hz but still same. My HTC cannot detect the wireless ssid. Sometimes ok sometimes can't. Weird. Try turn off the 'auto channel selection' and choose a wifi channel manually. Works for me. The 20 hz setting didnt make a difference.

QUOTE(skyklg @ Mar 24 2011, 05:00 PM) if anyone knows whether do i just plug phone cable from VOIP1 (BTU) ---> wall socket... then my other wall socket can hook to other phones??? Yes, can. The output from the BTU is just an ordinary phone line. You can plug in wall socket, split with splitter etc. just as usual. Any analog phone will work.

QUOTE(wshoh @ Mar 28 2011, 06:55 PM) 2. Tried manually selecting channels as there were quite a few networks lurking but again, it wasn't connecting. Finally selected Auto and guess this solved my problem - all laptops were now able to connect to the router and obtain internet access via WiFi. But still bad news for the iPhone 4 and Samsung Galaxy Tab - iPhone could not connect to the router at all while the Tab could connect but cannot enjoy internet access. I only managed to connect with iPhone 4 by doing the opposite.. turning off Auto and manually selecting a channel. Also I left the bandwidth thing at 20/40 MHz.
