hi, i'm a newbie in this forum. Am getting the premium white pearl insight next month. Am considering a V-kool secure for the tint, and also am looking at changing the tyres to michelin/falken. Any thoughts ?

I also like the mugen bodykit but I like the zeus bodykit even better.. but I dont think it's coming to malaysia. Are there any accesory shops that can replicate the rear under spoiler of the zeus?

The Zeus kit:- http://ezzygetacar.com/tag/honda-insight-b...exclusive-zeus/

How much does the fuel consumption increase when you switch from the low rolling resistance tires to regular ones? I read that it'll increase FC by 10% or so. Any real world experience?
*
i have not read reports about fuel consumption increase in changing to normal tyres, but I believe michelin also has a type of low-rolling resistant tires such as Michelin Energy

Just got my Insight yesterday ! pearl white with v-kool secure 8mil tinting.. GPS and smartag works fine with V-Kool. V-Kool costs me rm 2,850. No complaints about heat rejection but I've yet to leave the car out in the sun yet.

I took the car out to cameron highlands and did over 600km already in the last 24 hours ! With 4 passenger load going to cameron, I got around 580km on a full tank running on Econ mode.

Does anybody have any complaints about the Bridgestone tyres? And btw, there is no auto-lock while u're driving the car, only when you leave the car parked. Nevertheless I love everything about the car and how smooth the ride is.

Someone Pls tell me where to get d Spoiler like this

What I've been informed, just wait a few months until shops can make imitation mugen bodykits. It should be 50% cheaper. Fyi, the whole mugen body kit is expected to cost around RM5k

Only managed to do 580km per tank on ECO mode?
that's somehow little compared to the fuel comsuption written on the brochures  sweat.gif
*
I only started refueling when the Fuel indicator was ON. Bear in mind, the Insight has 6.9 litre spare tank and I didnt use the spare tank. Of course if I were to continue driving using the spare tank, the car could easily go another 100km.. i would have reached almost 700km.

Dear gogo2,

I respect your comment made here and you're right, I did not booked but I owned an Insight now.

You're welcome to join the first TT Session if interested but you need to drive your Insight along with you.

Thank you.  rolleyes.gif

I mount it on the right lower side of the screen, I admit it's a bit far from the seat, but having Garmin 3790 helps

big can see better but you want to press the screen, you have to lean to the front. Is it even possible while driving?
*
yes, I have to learn forward, I'm 5 feet 9 and the seat has to be pulled back, but I only select the destination when I start the engine, before wearing the seat belt, so it doesnt really bother me. There are mountings with longer arms but they're pretty ugly. I saw a pic of a mounting done next to the speedometer

can someone suggest any good stearing lock.... and i also heard bout sometin like ignition lock, it play with wiring, does dis will void the Honda warranty?
*
was told by my SA that anything that involves cutting the internal wiring will invalidate Honda warranty. I'm not sure about wire extensions though

how's everyones real life fuel consumption so far? heard from some random reviews saying that its not that impressive compared to say Honda Jazz/Fit (of coz currently, Jazz is much more expensive in Malaysia) . guess that other than looks and technology, fuel consumption is obviously something Hybrid owners/potential(like me) owners look at.
*
only managed to do around 660km on a full tank just now running on ECO mode

If 660km for me when the fuel light warning start to on.....then got 9 litre more
In the manual if fuel warning light on will be 6.9litre more....
*
I drove until the Range indicator showed 2km, then i refueled.. strangely, the petrol pumped was only for 34 litres..meaning, I didnt use the spare tank.. I understand that the Insight has a spare tank of 6.9 litres.. That means, if you hit 0km range, you can still go on using the spare tank, right? can anybody confirm this?

Yes, indicator wont show mileage in reserve tank.

And to be precise, lights up when there are 8 litres in the tank, in which after you used up 32 litre, same as the City.
*
am sorry, have not been driving the latest hondas.. so that means, there's no reason to panic if the range hits 0 because there is another 6.9 litres more to go right? Will there be another indicator if the car finally runs out of spare petrol?

Noticed that the battery seems not really 100 % charged lately....may be something wrong.  hmm.gif  unsure.gif

[attachmentid=2091402]

Any owner facing the same problem ??  icon_question.gif
*
yes i see the same problem.. I'm now testing the car using normal mode instead of ECON. I notice that the first time I accelerate more frequently, the battery gets charged even more and my Range indicator starts off around 900km + !
