Loaded ron97 as my first tank of petrol for my new insight..seems like this would also be the last time too
http://www.bernama.com/bernama/v5/newsindex.php?id=575645Ron95 works great on Insight. I dont think you need to use ron97 because there is no added benefit unless you're using a perfomance-oriented car

I'm curious about this.
Do fuel economy oriented hybrids like the Insight and Prius actually benefit from using higher octane fuel like RON97 compared to RON95?
I would have thought that the higher octane fuels were more for performance oriented cars?
Would appreciate some clarification.
As a general rule of thumb, petrols under ron97 are mainly developed for engines that only support ron97, hence 97% gasoline. Honda Insight runs on ron95 and it's capable of burning only 95% gasonline. Hence and running your engine on 97 doesnt really improve performance on the Insight. I've loaded the insight with V-power and km/l dropped so much.
