I also test drive already. Great pickup. I have a feeling that pickup is faster
after I disable the ECO button. Anyone feel the same? The electronic look pretty. Also, at 12noon, the sun so hot, having ECO mode make the aircond feel hot because I'm fat. Fat people feel hot faster. My thin gf does not feel hot. Unfortunately, I test drive a Ford Focus tdci (turbo diesel) before I test drive Honda Insight. So my liking is veered towards Ford Focus TDCI. FFFFFFUUUUUUUUUUUUUUUU |

QUOTE(ckk125 @ Feb 19 2011, 07:04 PM) pick up is good after ECO mode is turn off. But I'm very bias now because I just ****ing drove a Turbo Diesel car... QUOTE(n00b123 @ Feb 19 2011, 07:17 PM) bro, the ECO mode will shut down the aircond for a certain duration for energy saving..therefore, not advsiable to try it during afternoon I still can push my budget. But Ford TDCI no need to change battery. the pickup and acceleration of ford focus tdci is obviously better due to higher torque and diesel turbo charged.. but then, the price difference between ford focus and honda insight is around 30k..if you such bufget, perhaps you might be interested to look at the higher end hybrid car such as toyota prius This post has been edited by gogo2: Feb 19 2011, 07:26 PM |

QUOTE(faidz85 @ Feb 19 2011, 10:15 PM) Just some correction for the bolded items I think the engine really shut off because the RPM goes to 0.- The engine never auto off itself. I think the proper term for this is the engine is on standby. If the engine is turned off, it would need another ignition to start. - I think this is very subjective depending on how light your foot is. But the more precise figure is around 1100km. The fuel consumption meter shows 50km/l and ideally with 42 liters of fuel, that can go up to 2000km. But let's be realistic, I'd put the figure somewhere around 30km/L and that equals to 1200km. YMMV. As for the handling, I think the Insight is slightly better due to its 16" and wider tyres. And then when its turn on back, you can feel the shudder, which is the ignition part to start the engine... I wonder if this will reduce the lifespan of the engine with on and off the engine... by the way, I really should not test drive Ford Focus tdci 15 minutes before I test drive Honda Insight. It makes me feel the driving dynamics of Ford so much better than Honda Insight. |

QUOTE(n00b123 @ Feb 19 2011, 10:10 PM) if performance is what you're aiming for, then hybrid cars definitely will not meet your requirements I did not aim for anything in specific. Want to get the best bang for the buck. If not mistaken, the mileage Focus TDCI can achieve is as good as the hybrid cars...but not sure the yearly road tax renewal for diesel cars and it could be quite expensive Tax renewal for petrol and diesel is same. So the Ford TDCI is RM376 per year. Added on February 19, 2011, 11:26 pm QUOTE(SteadyPana @ Feb 19 2011, 11:13 PM) Just wonder, our diesel here ok with the tdci engine ?? Heard it is not really compatible for this GREEN-ENGINE. Furthermore, Ford - the resale value may not so appealing. Just my personal opinion The reason Ford bring TDCI engine here because our government introduce Euro 2Modified for our country.[attachmentid=2051587] So our diesel is definitely ok with TDCI engine. Resale value for Hybrid call also doubtful. So I think the risk buying Honda Insight and Ford Focus TDCI is same. But.... that's just my opinion... I really should go test drive Ford and Insight back to back today. That's my opinion also. Lol This post has been edited by gogo2: Feb 19 2011, 11:26 PM |

QUOTE(idoblu @ Feb 19 2011, 11:33 PM) So tall also blocked? Strangely my same height wife says she can see it no problem. The only difference is she pushed the chair nearer to the steering wheel yes blocked. So I adjust my body to see it because I did not adjust the seat earlier.By the way, the acceleration is quite good. Can reach 100km/h very fast. Especially ECON button is off. But because I test drove a Ford TDCI, I don't have that rush feeling. |

QUOTE(SteadyPana @ Feb 19 2011, 11:43 PM) In the second hand car market world - in this BOLEH land - Branding DOES MATTERS. You're probably right!!! But I really dunno also... Hence, Ford is OUT of the this world's interests unless you sell your car personally. May be I'm wrong. QUOTE(idoblu @ Feb 19 2011, 11:45 PM) IPU is what? All I know is RM7k is for the battery. But I believe in few years, we have battery reconditioning service. Also, historically, Insight battery last for 200,000km. |

QUOTE(raymondho2u @ Feb 20 2011, 12:10 AM) Honda got better resale value than others for sure. otherwise go for Toyota i have a knack going different direction from everyone else because my last ride last me > 10 years...ps/ japs car are better than those "continental cars", especially in Hot Malaysia. I believe any car > 10 years will not have any significant different in value fast fast pull me back to Insight...my heart somewhat fall in love with Ford TDCI eventhough Ford is coming out with new model soon. |

QUOTE(ZeroSP @ Feb 20 2011, 01:43 PM) Anyway... Just back from another test drive... at first also I want to book silver because you know la, high tech car must come in silver color (to meLooks like Silver is top on the list... While Black is low... silver is metal look which is synonymous with technology). QUOTE(kapultek @ Feb 20 2011, 01:45 PM) Premium Pearl White is the most expensive color. Its worth to choose White also. |

QUOTE(chizzu @ Feb 20 2011, 01:58 PM) most probably deciding to go for insight I paint my car pearl white and it never gets yellow. Pearl white is as strong as Metallic or better.but pearl white will go yellowish after a while? Still thinking either blue or white :3 but this can be changed later i guess? the SA that attended me the other day is not working today so maybe i will go back some other day to do the full test drive before deciding QUOTE(Lennox @ Feb 20 2011, 02:00 PM) Anyone heard before the coming Honda Insight CR-Z? The honda seller told me it will be announced at end of this year Yeah, but 2 seat. |
