TOKYO, Japan, March 18, 2011 – Considering the current situation of the nationwide recovery efforts in Japan, Honda had previously announced the suspension of production until March 20. Today, Honda made the decision to extend the suspension of production of finished units at the following plants until March 23, 2011: for automobiles, Sayama Plant at Saitama Factory (Sayama, Saitama) and Suzuka Factory (Suzuka, Mie) and for motorcycles, Kumamoto Factory (Ozu-machi, Kikuchi-gun, Kumamoto).
Concerning operations from March 24 on, Honda will make decisions based on the status of the recovery of parts supply as well as Japanese society as a whole. We deeply regret any inconvenience this may cause our customers, and request their understanding during these challenging times.

I had a chance to drive insight for 5 days since Wednesday as my colleague went to oversea till today Sunday.
The odo start @ 403km. Using trip B as the gauge for each day used. I reset trip B everyday before start journey in morning.
I managed to clock about 480km distance throughout the whole 5 days.

On Wednesday, I was able to get 23.1KM/L.
The journey is from Bukit Jalil -> Cheras -> Kelana Jaya -> Cheras -> Bukit Jalil again.
Morning had a mild jam but at least able to move 20km/h n above. Evening jam was mild as well usually at the Tasik Selatan stretch and the Stadium road heading to TPM.

On Thursday, I only about to get 21.1KM/L
Heavy jam starting at the Endah Parade till Tasik Selatan and heavy as well @ the Stadium.

On Friday, I only manage to 19.5KM/L sad.gif
Evening jam starts at Sunway bridge till Sunway toll, from Endah Parade all the way to Tasik Selatan and finally jam from Tesco Midah till Pandan Perdana. As usual Friday evening jam is very bad.

On Saturday, didn't bother to record down.

On Sunday, I was able to clock average 25.2KM/L ... rolleyes.gif
I travel from Bukit Jalil to KLIA to pick up my friend. Then head back to my friend's house. total journey is about 119KM.
Throughout the journey I travel max at 85KM/H using cruise control using Dengkil road.

Above stats is based on the Insight FC calculation, didn't do manual calculation.
Here is my observation on getting best mileage

1. Full electric motor powered cruising is only available at speed 20km/h to 60km/h on flat road. I use it whenever I can but not recommend for long journey as it is very difficult to hold the leg steady all the time.
2. Cruise control is should be used at 70km/h and above, my leg cant get better than the computer.
3. Had to drive like a nanny to get maximum mileage... doh.gif.
4. On flat road the best mileage speed is at 75~85km/h using cruise control @ 26~27KM/L.
Anything above mileage is reduced, example @ 90km/h is 22~23KM/L.

Overall mileage, I think it is at 20KM/L. Heavy traffic really reduce the mileage significantly.

I kinda slightly disappointed, I expected more mileage from the Insight but according to InsightCentral mileage will increase about 2~3km/l after engine break-in and using better synthetic oil.

Just to share with you guys some feedbacks on the fuel consumtion for Honda Insight after driving this car for one week.
So far, the milage i've managed to clock is around 470km and the remaining fuel should be able to clock around 160 km as per range shown in the system.
I have been driving in proportions roughly 80% city and 20% highway with ECON mode turned on.
My driving speed is usually <100kmph and sometimes would carry 1-2 passengers along.

Seems like it is impossible to clock above 20km/l unless you have been driving this car consistently 100kmph at the highways with ECON mode.
Otherwise, the fuel consumption for Insight driving in the city would be more or less the same like any other 1.3-1.5litre petrol cars.

A lot of traffic jam? If it is then it is very hard to achieve.
