Anyone got experience sending Apple product for warranty claim? I got a faulty power adapter for my iPad. I bought it from Apple Online Store Malaysia.

How do I send in for warranty claim. Just got it on 20th Dec 2010.

I check Apple website and there's a Service and Support number to call 1-800 803-638.

However I also check that there's few authorize service centre in Malaysia.
Apple Authorize Sales and Service Centre

Appreciate your help on that.

You can send straight in to any Apple service centre. Or you can call first and then send in also can. I think Apple will give you a case no if you do that. Dunno if it'll make any difference.

Unless it's a unusual case. 2 yrs ago I had a white MacBook power adaptor die on me about a month after the 1 year warranty ended. I brought into Machines and they wouldn't layan me. Can't blame them. I gave Applecare a call and after talking to them a little bit, the support guy passed me to his super who gave me some advice that I should buy Applecare next time and proceeded to authorise a replacement for my out-of-warranty adaptor. So very nice of them bcos as you know power adaptor for MacBook not cheap.

certain parts is ok but you know without Applecare they treat like "lower class" ... my experience was replacing the trackpad , i have to pay damn a lot of fees like labor and so on at the end i got my MBP back 3 weeks later .

@ eugenechiuu Apple doesn't allow anyone to stock replacement parts. So when you claim warranty, the service partner sends in your faulty stuff & Apple sends out a replacement.

@ bryancsk yeah... out of warranty repairs / replacements can be expensive...

It depends .. if it is special case, the case number is really important to mention to the service centre .. I've gone to VR Tech & Sapura few times, both with case number and w/o case number. On few special cases where I need to get a new battery replacement, mentioning case number speed up thing.. otherwise, they'll do the normal thing .. checking the software, hardware .. then service them as needed.
