Guys, the 3G/2G selection mode applet on N900, if I choose 3G or dual, will this 3G be considered as the data packets (correct ah?) and charged by Maxis?

QUOTE(super_evil_alien @ Feb 19 2011, 12:14 AM) Remember there is 3 possible data setting with N900. Nope, I already uninstalled fMMS for quite some time.2G - GPRS 2.5G - EDGE 3G - Well...It's 3G Even if you limit you device to 2G,it can still connect to internet with GPRS. Another thing did you receive any MMS with fMMS?Because fMMS charge you per data & not per MMS. With the 3g/2g selection applet, there are three options right? DUAL, GSM and 3G. I chose GSM. But let's say if I choose 3G or Dual, can I still be charged for data usage? So confusing Added on February 19, 2011, 8:01 am QUOTE(one1002 @ Feb 19 2011, 02:22 AM) ctrl+shift+r..then close keyboard..turn the phone to portrait mode.. I always make sure to be connected only to wifi (P1 Wimax at my aunt's house or school's). choosing the 3G alone doesn't actually connects the phone to the internet..unless u choose "internet connection" --> celcom/mxs/digi internet connection --> with the 3G icon next to the battery icon, then u are connected to the internet..mind u connecting to the internet by using 3G will skyrocket your bill because app manager will find the updates no matter what kind of connection u are using..either 3G, 2G, or wifi, it'll search for updates for the first 5minutes.. But when I called Maxis operator, he said that, even though I chose wifi, if let's say it gets disconnected, the phone will automatically switch to 3G, which made me doubt it. Maxis operator really knows or just simply say it to me? QUOTE(mashimarow @ Feb 19 2011, 06:55 AM) Yes, I set it to always ask right from the beginning. Just to share, for those who are having problems with PREENV, try this:
$ sudo gainroot # apt-get -f install # apt-get autoremove # apt-get clean # apt-get update # apt-get upgrade # apt-get install preenv I had a problem before |

QUOTE(Dark_Angel85 @ Feb 23 2011, 07:26 AM) Nokia MM9780S Ooh..cool. Will try this. Some other remotes work as well... but not all the buttons mentioned have the same configuration... you'll have to try most buttons to double check if they function as they are... but it DEFINITELY scares the shit out of my housemates!! KAKAKAKKAA QUOTE(Josh_M @ Feb 23 2011, 09:05 AM) Do share.. =) Oh, about my Maxis thingy, I still have to pay the bills. Hm, don't know what makes it very expensive. I always make sure not to be connected to Maxis 3G. |

QUOTE(mashimarow @ Feb 23 2011, 09:18 AM) get a dataplan package, safer Yeah, I was thinking to do the same.. =)we never know how the operator charge us and we are no way tracing it, their answer never satisfy, just switch operator if you feel being conned...too much New package. Hm, the app used to switch Astro channels, can't find it? Am still a noob This post has been edited by solsekuin44: Feb 23 2011, 09:42 AM |

QUOTE(Dark_Angel85 @ Feb 23 2011, 09:54 AM) use the app dataplan monitor. It gives you an idea about how much data has been downloaded and when to stop... so, if lets say you subscribed to the 500mb 1 day plan, you can go ahead... surf, keep checking the dataplan monitor (which will be on your desktop) and make sure you don't exceed the 500mb mark. It can also be easily reseted in settings. It'll help you monitor your usage very well.. how accurate it is, i've yet to overshoot that limit ever since using it.... Ok, will try this. Can't stop palying Jump O Clock use qtirreco... can download from app manager or use apt-get QUOTE(Josh_M @ Feb 23 2011, 09:59 AM) Will try this. Thanks..QUOTE(mashimarow @ Feb 23 2011, 10:01 AM) i use netstory , it monitor all the data being used, and it calculate only data movement using operator, all wifi data transfer are not calculated, so you get a very accurate reading...well, that what we claimed here Yeah, whatever it is, I still have to pay the bill. I will use netstory just for my reference.the comment from solsekuin44 is she is being charged while not using any data usage, we never know how operator charging us even we claim we not using any and there is no point argue with them, they never waive the charges, just switch operator if not satisfy QUOTE(Dark_Angel85 @ Feb 23 2011, 10:12 AM) I use qtirreco.. when you open the app, it'll have the 'download remote' function. It's all in there. You won't miss it... Tried irreco a few times but couldn't get it to work.. qtirreco yes Will try, thanks for sharing =) Does it work with Astro Beyond decoder? |

Brings back the good sweet times, haha.. QUOTE(Dark_Angel85 @ Feb 24 2011, 07:25 AM) OK... erm... I think I'd just put the steps here exactly I downloaded and installed that DB, will try this weekend and share with others =) A student told me, "Wah, your phone looks like a PSP. Can play many games!"qtirreco>new remote>create remote>download remote>select alphabet>nokia>mm9780s this is the exact step as I am typing... hope it helps... sorry cause I am not EXACTLY sure how to upload it into the debs. I found this lirc.source... http://lirc.sourceforge.net/remotes/nokia/MM9780S Hope this helps you Tried playing nfsuc.... very cool and the graphics seem to be uber smooth... sadly, I didn't repartition my drive and it's still 2GB only for software... Kinda lazy to do the whole leafpad>save to eMMC thingy... the instructions make it look to tedious.... and still stuck with the CLASSIC DrNokSnes which I can never get bored of... I'm like so into those consoles when I was a kid... ... but so cool that we can get those preenv games going like assassins creed and others...! you should share your screenshots! QUOTE(Dark_Angel85 @ Feb 24 2011, 07:51 AM) hahahaha YEAH! Megaman is massive I'm not against the other games or anything~ but once I saw that you could play like DONKEY KONG!!! MARIO!!! SONIC!!! STREET FIGHTER!! Even lion king, jungle book, x-men apocalypse.... i was just like dumbfounded and immediately got stuck... MEGAMAN is like MASSIVE!!! |

HTC Doubleshot? Ok, will google it! Thanks.
I thought it was HTC 7, haha.. But, from your previous posts, I remember that you 'despised' Win7 mobile? Sorry if I were wrong. |
