I suppose the real problem with Lucas' game is that it isn't flashy. Aside from his mistakes, there isn't anything memorable about it. Accordingly, it is glaringly obvious when he does make a mistake that gifts a goalscoring chance to the opposition.

Unlike our previous two midfield anchors - Alonso was always remembered for his looooong accurate passes (although his forte imho were not his passes but his many many interceptions) while Mascherano attracts more attention with his scampering runs across the pitch, gobbling up space and making that crunching tackle on some unfortunate sod... Both very spectacular and pleasing to look at.

Lucas on the other hand plays a simple understated game. I would go as far as say that Lucas is a better player in KK (oh oh ok, KD and not King Kenny) KD's system than either Alonso or Mascherano will ever be.

Pass and move isn't spectacular - it is simple and effective. Imho anyways.

its undeniable that the top 3 richest & most protitable fottball clubs have the devils in there. on paper they may appear to be in debt, but there is no denying they have the massive funds to dip, along with manc city, chelsea, RM.

we have or at least being aligned by our new owners to succeed where we failed the last 20+ year in managing modern day football club. its still early days & may seem so but as even dalglish has admitted, rafa has overhaul the academy for the better, it only a matter of time & naturing the good seeds.

the problem is the space around Anfield. Its just too cramp & near to houses. It'll takes loads of $$$ just to relocate those residents. & there's a small matter of those residents being a bluenose purposely won't agree to any moves.

Actually, somehow I feel really special for stadiums like Anfield, Highbury & Bramall Lane being in the middle of houses, literally. There's no way you'll see these stadiums anywhere else though it compromises on the future expansion of the stadiums.

I agree that we need to learn & respect the club's tradition & history. That is what separated Liverpool from others. Every clubs have their own histories, which is why we need to know them in order to have a better understanding of the club. Kinda sad nowadays more fans like to read transfer gossip than the 'unimportant' history of the club

If there's no way to expand Anfield, then a move to new stadium, though with heavy heart, is a must for us to compete. We knew that to bring in 70k+ attendance can generate income for the club, else we're lagging in term of revenue which in turn hampering our ability to compete. 

Still prefer them to expand though since as u said, its place where Reds share their happiness & sadness

Dear triple 02,do u think foreign fans like us will support liverpool without it winning trophies?the reason we support them is because we want to see good football and trophies.We are not scousers to get emotional over liverpool.we are after all foreigners.hope u look at the fan bases of teams like bolton and stoke and give it a thought why they dont have a brand like liverpool or united or arsenal or chelsea.

A big hello to all my fellow L.F.C. fans. Here is a little story to warm your hearts about the great people at our great club.

I was in my local pub in Southampton (I moved there from Liverpool 21 years ago) having a pint or two when the landlord came down to do his shift. I was all prepared for our usual banter about his dislike for Liverpool (he strangely thinks Saints are much better) when he came out with “full respect to Kenny and Liverpool football club”. I thought “here we go” thinking here comes the dig. He then went on to tell me a story of a local who is a nice lad who just found out he had a very aggressive form of cancer and he has less than 2 months to live. His mum phoned up L.F.C. and explained to the lad on the phone how he was a massive Liverpool fan and had never been to Anfield and his one wish was to see his beloved club once before he died. The lad on the other end of the line listened to her story which was just to get some autographs of his favourite players. The lad said to her “can I call you back in 20 minuets please?” 10 minuets later her phone rang and the voice on the other end said in a Scottish accent “Hello this is Kenny Dalglish here can I speak to your son please. Kenny had taken the time straight away as soon as he heard the news to call her back. He spent the next hour talking to him laughing and joking listening and sharing stories with him. This would have been the best day of his life until King Kenny invited him to Anfield where the lad was given the full works, he was introduced to the players before the game and then with his family was sent up to the directors box where a great big spread was put on for them. At the end he was given half the shop to take away with him. This was the best day ever he said and while telling his story you could see what it meant to him by his eyes welling up and his voice breaking. That should have been it but Kenny then found out that the pub had set up a collection for the ward that is looking after him and the hospice. Kenny gave £250,000 to it out of his own pocket!!! We all know that this is a subject very close to Kenny’s heart with the sad loss of family members to cancer

So I hear you cry what’s the point of this story.

My point is the lad at the other end of the line could have just said sorry we don’t do that which I know a lot of clubs do, he could not have cared. The ethos of Liverpool is no-one is bigger than the club. Liverpool is a family and we care for one another when you join this family. Through out the club everyone is respected and loved. No club understands how important fans are more than L.F.C. as there would be no club with out the fans. The actions by everyone at the club in this instance show what Liverpool think of our great supporters. Now Laurel and Hardy have gone and the old guard are back we are getting back to what made this club so respected and admired throughout the world.

This my friends is why Liverpool will be back on top sooner rather than later.

In another note, anybody remember Luis Garcia. I think he arrived together with Alonso during Rafa's reign. I am still asking the question, why did we let him go? Was it him who requested for a transfer? I kind of miss his trademark goals from midfield. He's very similar to the current Mereiles in style. Good skills and technique. Remember the yellow wrist band and the thumb sucking celebration. Most of all, I still remember the wonder goal he scored against Juventus..
