You didn't say what age is your TV. If it's an LCD or plasma, (i.e., made in this century) and you have a real notebook instead of one of those "toy notebooks" like Intel netbooks with Intel graphics, then you can straight away link the two together through DVI or HDMI cable. It's a lot simpler than you think.
