No need translation. Nobody ever asked me for one. I mean, it's all very evident and if you get a copper who wants one from you, you must have faceproblem.
Either way official translations must be done by NAATI accredited translators. I can translate BM to english. But i'm a jerk. This post has been edited by empire23: Feb 3 2011, 07:19 PM |

Translate it yourself and get a local commissioner of oath to certify it.

If you're so paranoid about it, go JPJ and apply for international license.

I think there's a lady in glen waverly who does this , all my Clayton friends went there to get it done.the other way is international driver license but that is not really needed anymore. most ppl just drive with malaysian license , not really bothered. Just remember if you drive modded car you will be stopped by police multiple times. They like to kacau anyone with special cars. if you want to mod your car at least do it sleeper style. |

To get translated driving license, please visit this website http://www.msda.org.au/index.php?option=co...w=article&id=16
Is pretty much self explanatory from there. * The service(which is free!) from the website is only available to students studying in Australia. This post has been edited by tianz90: Oct 5 2012, 03:50 AM |

hi guys, i'll be heading to melbourne soon. just wondering if the license has to be an International Driving Permit(IDP) issued by JPJ. contacted Hertz call center and the agents say a valid driving document in english is required and sadly as all of us know, ours is in BM. also looking to save rm150 if possible

Hi, I'm going to Melbourne for travel about 8 days and plan to self-driving travel around.
Anyone had this experience before? Am I must apply for a International Driving License from JPJ? Does car rental company approve my car rental if I do not have IDL? |

QUOTE(zendrive86 @ Aug 13 2013, 05:59 PM) You can just go ahead and use your Malaysia Driving license. No need to head to JPJ and convert to International license. http://www.msda.org.au/student-corner/lice...r-student/'It's free for student and I think AUD5 for non student. I applied online yesterday and got my translated license today. The requirement to change your overseas driver licence to a Victorian driver licence depends on whether your stay in Victoria is temporary or permanent. If you are in Victoria on a temporary visa, you can drive on your overseas driver licence for as long as it is current providing it is in English or accompanied by an English translation or International Driving Permit. There is no requirement to get a Victorian driver licence. If you have entered Victoria on a permanent visa issued under the Migration Act 1958, you may drive on your overseas driver licence for: six months from the date you first entered Australia if the permanent visa was issued before you entered Australia; or, six months from the date when the permanent visa was issued to you if the permanent visa was issued to you whilst in Australia. If you want to continue driving in Victoria after this time you must change your overseas licence to a Victorian driver licence. New Zealand residents who hold a current licence are treated as interstate drivers. - http://www.vicroads.vic.gov.au/Home/Licenc...ersLicences.htm |
