"but the rear light seems a bit korean-ish"...
I had the same thinking like you at 1st ...try to judge that car at different angle..
Tested the Passat CC 2.0 tsi. Wheel spin on take off everytime since FWD. Responsiveness of car to throttle inputs is great. 6spd DSG is also fast and responsive. Sport setting on adaptive suspension is too jiggly. Normal setting gives the best ride handling compromise.I will pick...

Tested the Mondeo 2.0 Ecoboost as well. 203hp 300Nm 6 speed Dual clutch. Engine is sweeter and quieter than Passat CC. Ride comfort and steering accuracy also beats Passat CC. Hmm ... this Mondeo is really comfy, quiet and yet a great drivers car! Only one thing lets down the drive .... the responsiveness just feels SLOW inspite of the dual clutch gearbox. Stomp on the accelerator and pick up feels slow at the start but picks up quickly a while later. I guess price may be around RM200K - 210K for Mondeo Ecoboost vs RM245K for Passat CC.
One other thing.... Mondeo body and doors feel real solid. Passat CC feels flimsy comparatively. After testing both, can't say which one I prefer overall..... tough choice! Wonder how is the resale value of either car since not popular choices in M'sia. Cheers.....
