Today is a good day...
Today is Thursday the Tenth
Today....

Yesterday was not so good,
Saw Arsenal got beaten in the Chempiang Liga to Barcelona (a fren was a fan)
my father mis-step and scrape the shin on a drain during his morning walk
the gash was deep that require >5 stitches

but somehow got some thing done, yesterday to today.

Found a spot at car park area to set up the paint area, dang the bad camera

user posted image
this is much better

then the others
user posted image

finally all painted and left out to dry
user posted image

suddenly got lazy to wait around downstairs
and pack everything up, thinking they are dried completely,
I couldn't be so wrong..... sad.gif

Then today brought all the parts to workplace
Ladies and Gents, I introduce to you Mr. Oven
user posted image

Set at 43 degrees C and bake for ~1 hrs
user posted image

this is what the part fully dried looks like, after a full night air dry and ~1 Hrs oven curing
user posted image

a proper checking shows some defects
user posted image
the bane of "lazy to wait" syndrome

user posted image
then this is the defect created from improper surface preparations
during the spray, that area seems to have 2 dots not adhering paint, some finger nudging able cover it, but causes the uneveness there after

anyway, that was the first coat, so intention to sand out imperfection and respray is cemented.

so, back to the topic, it was
sreeking

GOOD NEWS EVERYONE...

one part of my life is done
and without further ado, the results

user posted image
The first part of the assembly, the lcd panel

user posted image
The lid side of the LCD panel. The Asus logo effect is not what I have expected, but it will do for now (mental note to self, find some flat red LEDs, take time to disassemble the god damn netbook again, solder the god damn led and get some better light show.)

this is in total darkness doh.gif...

the same place with Flash (thought about the Flash joke, but suddenly remembered being lazy yawn.gif )

^ this is with a silicon keyboard skin with Dvorak-keyboard sticker on it.

I intentionally left out some parts to be of original white
- the battery, the touchpad, the screw plugs

Heck I might as well call this small bump on the road
PANDA Net-Bee

As for the original Anti Est. project, well it will continue from now on.
When it will finish is yet to be seen

At least my trial test with spraying is a success on its own ight, this make me more confident in tackling the big daddy

Gambateh!!!!

HECK keep getting derailed from the ori mod by small small project here and there

Her is a simple do up on my mouse
The colour suits the PANDA Net-Bee fine but it's starting to show its age

Here is the mouse
user posted image
initially it is a naise mouse, compact on storage, laser type that even works on my tummy!!

then the bottom half is of the soft touch plastics (most prolly a thin PU layer) Good to touch but one heck of a dirt/ink catcher

these pics shows the ori layer, the diirrtthhy looking stuff, and the new surface scrapped of the stuff and sand down with 400grit sandpaper

can either go repaint it or just leave it as it is
which is not bad actually

any thoughts?

Now if i can focus, the original project would have finished by now
Dangnamit!!! FOCUS!!!!!!

*hmmm... doesn't the Dell 24 incher need a sprucing up...*
zzzzzz

4 y.o. + few more year = ????
4 month izzit? rclxub.gif

The mouse is a microsoft Arc mouse
http://www.google.com/search?client=opera&...=utf-8&oe=utf-8

in a way, removing the soft touch layer clean up the looks but at the same time cheapens it as well

hmmm talking to you gave me some ideas

Thanks man,

Oh man, another deviation from the main project
any way, this should be a simple mod

Damn it!!!
Damn the Van Winkle Pharmacy, giving me some drink medicine....

anyway...
some little updates on the original build

3 months past since the last post, seems like a dream, a new P67 FatBoi, 16GB DDR3 Corsair-V, i7 2600k dream. Really cant get enough of it. So after some 2-3 month of dilly-dallying, got down to do some forward motion on the case mod/rebuild

cut some acrylics (or PMMA, clearer than PC, but less strength)
user posted image

how'd I cut it? some penknife and this
user posted image
which used to be a screwdriver but lost the wooden handle. The tip got some hammering, and with some miner filing, a DIY score

user posted image
for me, knives tend to bury deep in the channel created, thus jamming the tips most of the time. With this, the V-shaped tip scrape away layer by layer deeper, enabling me to score deeper before bend-crack it (had a history of bad bend-crack with shallow knife score)

some other pics
user posted image

user posted image
mis-calculated and loop off a part that isn't supposed to.. sad.gif
Ah, well. Acrylics is really versatile, will find a way to mend it later

user posted image
the next day brought out the wain artillery. Remember the DIY heat-strip back then? Well it is being put to good use NAO!

user posted image
not the best big-radius bend (for that would need at least another heat-strip)

user posted image

user posted image
this is the wrongly looped off piece. The looped off piece should be creating a U-shaped at the wider side, as a HDD holder. Ah, well maybe it's for the best. The brain have been cranking on way to mediate the error, but than is in the future.

there is another 2 pic failed to be upload to photobucket while at home, and the company firewall block uploading.... any altenative recommendations?
