I am subscribed to Unifi VIP5. Any idea how I can watch IPTV on a PC/Mac?
There should be a way to channel the signal from the STB to the computer using a decoder a la EyeTV etc.
Can some AV expert out there please enlighten us on this subject?

If your computer :CD having HDMI socket, just connect that to the LCD & bypass computer-lor..otherwise use the HDMI-DVI converter/adaptor

What I mean is connect the HDMI cable from IPTV direct to your HDMI LCD screen of your PC or even notebook..If the LCD no HDMI port, use a HDMI-DVI converter..I strongly believe this is possible

If you want to record the show, install a video capture card in your computer. Either a USB or PCI based will do.

if the unifi tv stream is not scrambled, you can use a software that supports the codecs used by TM and does multicast streaming.
If the channels are scrambled, you need a physical splitter from the stb to your tv and stream it to your pc. you will still need a player that supports the unifi codecs and multicast streaming.

Just to add, me and rizvanrp has discovered that unifi's IPTV is encrypted. Hence, no watching on computers (unless you use only the monitor), or you do what ihsan said.

It used to be able to until TmNut decided that they didn't want people recording it from their laptop and do a direct stream. So they prevented all of that. Now the only way is to connect your laptop directly to the STB to stream anything. Not as easy as using a username and password as we all would like it to be.
