Hi, Waja newbie here. Hope you all don't mind me knocking on this thread.

I just took over my wife's Waja (year 2002, bought 2006).

1. For now the immediate problems I face is need to keep filling water into the radiator reservoir tank. By keep filling I mean every 2 days. I'm sure it's leaking but not sure whether the tank itself or the water pump.

2. The right side headlamp is broken, needs to change. I saw one priced at RM150 on Mudah. Is this the right price?

3. 12V plug socket is not working, although I'm sure I just need to change the fuse for this one.

4. The sound from the engine is also quite loud. I also hear some rattling on the left side of the engine whenever I push the engine (for example to overtake). This rattling is a short one, it will be gone once the car rev past 2500/3000rpm onwards.

5. The random squeaks here and there, probably from the aircond belt...

6. Whenever I steer hard right or left, I can hear some sound also and the feel is not so smooth. Is this a drive shaft problem?

Apart from these, I am planning to upgrade the following:

a. K&N filtercharger
b. Silicone Wipers - done as of today
c. Philips H4 x-treme
d. Michelin or another good set of tires if you would recommend.

Also, is there anything I should know to fix/rectify with using a Waja? I read from Autoworld about the famous fuel pump problem. Anyone kena this before?

Have a nice day, and thanks in advance smile.gif

Thanks King_C, will look into that. Trying to rectify what I can first before send to my workshop.

Took over this car after my Charade Espri engine burned on me... Although that's another long story altogether.

pojam : do contact me if you want a real clean and efficient engine. You can refer to my below post for engine flush and Threebond Engine Conditioner to give your car that brand new feeling. On top of that, a free visual inspection

Sure thing bro, but need to do budget first.

Just arrived in Kota Bharu half an hour ago (from Shah Alam). I tested the car to the most comfortable-fast speed I can get which is approximately 140 km/h. Anything above that and I feel quite rocking like a boat (similar feel when I was driving my first generation Saga). The top speed that I had today is 160 km/j. Overall I really love the feel when Campro kicks in, engine roars and the car just goes forward. Can't wait for my cheque to come in so I can upgrade this big fella (big compared to my previous car Charade Espri).

Have a good morning and a nice day guys, now I'm off to rest and later retrieve my Espri. Drive safe!

Campro? hhmm... your espri is a piece of shit, with a 3cylinder 1litre engine. Why didn't you convert to a 4e or Deto? Nice mah biggrin.gif

It may be 1.0 but it's a very nice 1.0 bro. Loved the pickup speed and I think 1.0 was enough for its size. The only time I felt it's lacking power is when I drive over 130 km/h or when climbing up hill. Trust me the stock engine is very competitive, either that or the driver is smile.gif Never upgraded cause looking for the engine to die on its own Initial D style. hahaha, now it's about the right time to convert but overall the age of the car makes sourcing for spare parts hard and expensive. So I repaired the car and I think I'm going to let my sister inherit that car.

btw, is it normal for it to produce a loud whirling sound?
I wonder if this is the belt squeak whirl sound? I get this too once in a while... Even while driving

Is it normal for the steering to be quite heavy when you steer it while the car is stationary (as in trying to get out of parking)...Sorry, very newbie to power steering here smile.gif

Espri is shit

Considering I overtook quite a few 1.3 and 1.6 and some even more powerful cars at the corners before, I have to say I'm pretty satisfied with 1.0. I think the only time I got smoked that I cannot chase back is by a Honda Jazz, which after the Subang turn (NKVE exit to Batu 3 toll), he overtake me on the straights. If the road was downhill it would have been a different story.

Alas, No worries bro now I have both Espri and Waja. Shit it might be to you but it's been a really nice car for me.

Anyway today bought new headlight, right side. RM170. Hopefully the price wasn't so cut throat. Now need to DIY to change the item. Size 4 wrench, where are you... (that nut by the wiper tank is gonna be tricky)
