gashapons are totally random, that i agree. but trading figures or candy toys should be packed in complete set, no?
for example, MGS2 figures
http://www.xl-shop.com/xlshop/pages/produc...NAMI-340015SET7
*
Random.

Although you might want to know that some trading figures don't run on the random luck basis and have the figurine that's inside the box printed on the box cover. And on rare occasions (very rare), some batches of the trading figure boxes would have the complete set in it (like the Gundam SEED haro figurine I have, its box of 10 is airtight sealed and has black marker numbers scribbled on it, indicating the production batch or something).

Otherwise, shops like XLshop can give you the complete set of gasha/TF because they ordered them by the hundreds, and opened all of them to sort them out.

No. The tallest gasha that I have are only about 8~9cm.

Get PVC(s) if you want something large (they're around the height of a normal Gundam 1/100 MG model kit)

Err...I think they're the same.

PVC = polyvinylchloride

Gashapons refer only to those figures which you can get inside plastic capsules. Because of the fact that they're packed like that, naturally they'd be smaller. Of course, chances are you'd never get those plastic capsules here in malaysia, cause retailers often buy in bulk to provide complete sets to buyers. Therefore you'll get them packed in plastic wrappings.

Trading figures usually come in nicely packed boxes (right infested?), but sizes also range. Some could be as tall as 8-10cm, but there are shorters ones as well.

user posted image
PVC figures are usually larger figures that come pre-painted, and no assembly is required (again, usually). They are usually packed in nice boxes.

user posted image
Resin kits are usually unpainted figures, and assembly is normally required. You'll need to assemble them, and THEN paint them.

Hope I got the gist of it right. sweat.gif

Most of them, yes, although I think resin kits are not made from PVC. There could also be figures which are prepainted but are coldcast, something like "plaster of paris"-like material? Again, I'm not too sure, maybe infested could provide a better explanation. I'm quite new in the whole figure scene too, just started seriously couple of months ago. tongue.gif

Generally, if you're into girl gashapons, stick to Yujin. Their quality are far more superior than anything else (and stay away from Bandai. They're only good in producing plastic model kits or mecha figurines, they suck d***s in girl gashapons). They're cheaper (usually 200yen) too, and are larger compared to the gashapons from Bandai.

Gashapon and trading figures don't run on scales.
edit: okay, maybe not all, most of the WWII trading figures, like the 1/144 Takara World Tank Museum collection runs on scale.

Only PVC and resin kits run on scales.

I second infested's opinion on Yujin's gashas. As proud owners of a couple of their figures, I must say they certainly look better than my Bandai ones. smile.gif

No such thing. Various companies produces various figurines at various sizes/scales.

Although like I've said, generally Yujin gives you the larger gashapon figurines, compared to Bandai who gives you smaller sized crap.

Hey all, just wanna ask.

Bought this set of Bleach figurines from AnimeTech @ RM189.90.
Is it over-priced? Tried checking at other shops but none are selling.. can't even find it on X-L shops website.  sad.gif

Each one costs 300yen, so by using the current conversion rate (100yen = RM3.3), each should cost around RM10. Total set of 9, so RM90. So there, you've been ripped.

And according to someone on that link, a shop in Singapore sells the whole set for Sing$60.
QUOTE
Rapid Culture at Cineleisure selling at $60 for a set and $7 or $8 for tikam.

You do the math.
