Using an AMD phenom II X3 720 processor with stock heatsink, fan's around 2500-3000 rpm/40 degrees when idle. However when on load it goes up to 5000-6000+rpm just to maintain at 55 degrees, which is hella noisy/obvious. I use the cpu resources alot with games on(WOW & others),multiple firefox tabs, msn, music, apps, etc

Was thinking of getting a 3rd party heatsink from lowyat after CNY within the RM150-250 range. Looking for a heatsink that can maintain good temperature(doesn't have to be super low, but good enough so my chip doesn't get damaged in the long run) but most importantly silent so it's not noisy when I'm gaming. Any recommendations for one? Currently thinking of getting CM Hyper 212+ based on the reviews and really low price.

With this budget , you may can get a TRUE 120 at garage sales there . But if you want to save more money , just get the coolermaster hyper 212+ at just less than rm100 rclxms.gif

I'm using the CM Hyper 212+ on a i5-750 (1156).
Wanted to change the stock 120mm fan to one with blue LED.
does anyone have any recommendations for a 120mm 4-pin fan that has varying speed (e.g. 600-2000rpm)? (with blue led)

CM 90cfm fans? Preferably don't go for LED fans... more bling than anything.

hope the pros can help. I have a AMD Phenom II x6 1055T. I currently OC'ed it to 3.7GHz with the stock cooler with very good temp but it is damn freakin noisy. Was hoping anyone could recommended a cooler that is about the same size as the stock cooler. I don't want those large big cooler. Just want one that is the same size or at least the same height but is less noisy. Would be a added bonus if the cooler is good enough to help push the OC more but that is not the top priority. Main thing is same height and less noise icon_question.gif icon_question.gif icon_question.gif

ps: Would it be possible to just change the fan to a different brand or is it better to change the whole hsf as the only problem i have is actually the noise as the OC temps are pretty good.
