I found that even I've upgraded my firmware to froyo. My phone is still very laggy. I admire my friend's Iphone4. So smooth, be it scrolling or apps. After jailbreak....he can even download apps FOC. Gosh..have I bought a wrong phone? Help!!!!!!!!

It's the android system itself. iPhone and SGS both have 512MB ram, but android uses more ram for internal drivers, so... we have less available ram. Wait for samsung to release new kernel drivers with more ram. Froyo had 304MB and Froyo 2.2.1 had 339MB. Chill, just make do with what we have. My phone multitasks and don't bog down also. iPhone don't multitask right, I just don't get it with my previous iPhone.

I fear that since apple stole, I mean bought off intrisity (the company that design hummingbird and a4 chip), samsung had to look elsewhere to design its chip. They couldn't find one now. That's why they resort to omap. Now what will happen to orion?

Obviously, amoled production is reserved for the next galaxy s. New amoled factory still under construction kot

About the ram rant, apple sacrifice functionality for a great user experience (except its notification system-ask him how annoying and intrusive it is). Iphone4 is alot less functional compared to galaxy s. That's why it uses less ram.

Galaxy s OTOH, can do alot of things, thus the ram is used. Alot of free ram is a waste anyway as I have explained before. Free ram = wasted ram. My netbook only uses 57MB ram although it has 512MB ram. Upgrading to 4GB ram won't make it smoother and faster! In android and windows 7, free ram is turned into cached. That's why you see less free ram is available. Cache helps to speed up your phone.

Many of us install optimized kernels and flash custom rom that totally unleash the power of galaxy s.

tl/dr Galaxy S is awesome, fast and can do alot of things iphone4 can't.
It still is even with tegra2 based phones coming

Addon: For a pretty and simple phone, get iphone. For pretty and functional, get android. Haha, I love my galaxy s!

IPhone 4 cannot do a true multitask....you can read more about the details online if you are interested.

Iphone is a simple phone for normal functions.

Iphone 4 has limitations:
1) Cannot support Flash
2) Cannot cannect thru USB
3) Cannot transfer files thru Bluetooth
4) Antennagate problem
5) Facetime (videocall) only via WIFI, cannot use with 3G.
6) Lower screen technology (although they call it Retina display). SGS has SuperAmoled!
7) No Live wallpapers, no widgets etc.

A lot of my friends who bought iphone DO NOT know these limitations. After buying it, they have to live with its limitations, but they do enjoy the simplicity and ease of use.

So, if you are looking for a simple phone, go for IPhone. If you are more technology savvy and wants a complex and great functional phone, get the SGS.
