arghh, my sgs battery draining like sh*t, unplug from 100% , 5 minutes without doin anything sudah 97% liao sad.gif
*
that is normal, no need so paranoid about it laugh.gif ... the 1st 5% usually discharges quickly, then it will drain slowly, this is related to charging being cut off when battery level reaches 100% .. will charge back below 95%, this is a accurate method of preserving the battery to its optimal usage ... thumbup.gif

yeap he is nod.gif

You cooked wipe version or what? If wipe, then factory reset + flash + reboot + factory reset + restore.
If no wipe, then I recommend you wipe. Cos darky has completely different script from doc's and doc's isn't so friendly to newbs.
*
depends on which darky u r coming from, i was in darky v8, used doc no-wipe v9.1.3 .. then upgraded to doc v9.1.4 .. no problem at all, but gonna try using the wipe version when doc release a new version ... but of course, if u r new without much debugging skills, it is already better to follow freakfinger's recommendation. wink.gif

note: 'u' is directed to 'ali' .. tongue.gif

Mine also some condition...Mine one drop to 98% after unplug from charger...
No matter what i done also same...Clear battery stat..Charge with phone off mode. sweat.gif
*
i have repeated many many times .. its normal and its the correct accurate way to display ur battery status ....
when ur phone get charged to 100%, power is cut off and phone will use battery then it will recharges when the battery level drop below 95% ... this is a way to optimize li-ion batteries so that it will last longer ... there is an article regarding this back in v10 ... if u r hardworking then check that article out .. maybe TS can post this in front page? i seems to have explained over 6times now ... sad.gif

I just flash samsung keyboard. It contains all the fonts: chinese, arabic, hebrew, thai, clockopia, and regular one (droid fonts)
*
yeap... all crisp and clear thumbup.gif .. i think all firmwares can decode/encode all chinese characters, havent seen anyone complain about displaying.. most r questions about input ...

Hello..first time wanna flash from darky v8 to doc XWJS3 v9.1.4 WIPE. Got few ques:

1. For CSC which is the best ; Multi JP9 or Asian XME ?
2. For Modem which is the best ; JPA or DXJPB?
3. Whats the difference between MMS AOSP and MMS Samsung Standard? Which one is better?
4. Tweaks – What is Damian Tweak and Z4 Control for? And the difference between WPA Standard and Ad Hoc?
*
1. since u r in msia, just choose XME
2. I would suggest asia modems, make sure its DXJPA or DXJPB, both with the 'DX-' in front... if memory serves right, there is an australian modem of JPA too ...
3. MMS AOSP is mms of the original android ... where the other is wat u see now before flashing, interface stuff is different .. hard to explain, but i stick to samsung default .. smile.gif
4. Z4 control is for UV/OC, not recommended to touch but u can still play around with it though .... damian tweak is just like SGS Toll or SGS Toolbox

wonder if anyone met this problem before ... was playing Tank Hero, then the screen just stuck there, both menu and back touch button lit up and phone went totally not responsive ...
had no choice but to take off the cover and remove battery ... my battery was manufactured in August 2010 .. no tempted to do the gps fix ...

reporting back from gps hardware fix .. it was super easy, but shit happens and sadly i broke the antenna ... damn emo now ...

it was seriously so easy, till it made me curious and i tried to pry the down part of it end up whole thing came off ... opening the cover was relatively easy, search for rectangular holes on the side and put in a small flat screw driver then slowly pry it open, each sides consist of 2+ holes .. do it under a table light, the easiest hole to spot is beside the volume rocket, it is hidden below the chrome part ..

i am now hoping if anyone here familiar with electronics, is there any conductive glue so that i can just glue it back or the only way is by soldering? now living without gps, lucky still got data plan for google map ... cry.gif

just wanna let everyone know and reassure that the GPS Hardware Fix is super duper easy! .. follow the instructions from the link posted on 1st page and u r all done ... IT IS SERIOUSLY VERY EASY!
my warranty sticker wasnt on the screws so it is easy for me ... Just dont be like me, being too skeptical about it being too easy and went overboard, just consulted my electronic engineering friend and since my whole chrome antenna is still afix i can just stick it back onto the board with super glue!! ...

QUOTE(Star_knight79 @ Feb 4 2011, 11:15 AM)
Er.... You mean google map is using data plan. Not GPS??
*
it can use both GPS and data plan, by using both together it will become A-GPS which locks on faster due to using network satellites to determine ur location ...
no worries, it can be used with just GPS alone ... since i dont have my gps antenna now, i would need to use data plan to try get a lock and check where i am when i go sightseeing ...

@KH Cheah, currently searching for some solutions ... no $$ to get external gps receiver cry.gif

QUOTE(silentser @ Feb 4 2011, 11:30 AM)
sorry to hear that  notworthy.gif  that why people always mention dont go happy bending........

the only solution i heard was soldering, if you still under warranty, put it back all together and just say your gps suddenly stop working.
*
luckily in my case, the whole piece of chrome antenna came off from the board ... its not broken into 2 piece so i think still can save, hopefully ... and i am not gonna solder it, havent touch solder since ages ago back in secondary ...

gonna try out using super glue, if cant then i will have to send it all the way back m'sia ... OMG!

btw, i quoted a link about the battery info back in previous page wink.gif

u will surely laugh at my idiotic action .. hahaha
the gap was seriously flat, so i widen it easily ... after that i was like, eh! so this is it? not challenging at all .. so i went to have a look at the screenshot from xda, and i was like y the screenshot's base is higher then mine ... so i again used the flat head screw driver and tried to pry the bottom base higher, then pop the whole thing came off ..
it was as easy as A B C but things get messy when u add in 10 20 30 into the sequence ... doh.gif
lesson for the day, some things are meant to be followed as instructed.. laugh.gif
gonna get super glue later when i wake up .. good night pplz! .. i will be back when most r asleep .. smile.gif

glued back the chrome antenna back into its place ....
super glue here is different from m'sia, its not those thick liquid form but much more 'watery' .. now its back in it's place and cant trace at all ..

hopefully it works .. wanna do a fresh rom install at the same time but problem now is i cant access to xda forums ... anyone got doc's kitchen link?
found it: http://romkitchen.org/ .. gonna cook something fresh .. hehehe

Darky's is easier to install... its all in one and ready to be played with...

Doc u need to cook the rom, u need to experiment a bit for the right concoction of base rom, csc, and modem (well at least i do XD), apps that u want and so on...
Try darky's 9.2... its easy, just flash thru odin and ur set to go, of coz there's an extra step which is to install the apps u want thru the resurrection.zip.... u dun even need to be rooted to be on darky now... XD

Added on February 5, 2011, 1:21 am

i was curious about super glue when u mentioned it earlier and i saw it would absorb moisture and might corrode... not sure thou.. XD

hopefully it works for u...
*
i thought of that too, but it dries up insanely fast and when i tested it on some plastic and stoneware ... it seriously glue up damn strong ...
it also mention on the panel that can be used on metal too .. so hopefully it works, becoz i dont wan to send my phone back to msia for warranty cry.gif ..
