NEW LINE - very cheap/lousy tactic to release the Extra in DVD. afterall, LOTR is masterpiece & the disc is a must, how could NEW LINE Studio do this to us? besides, they are charging us at a very high $ & we do not mind of paying, at least give us good quality.

bad studio always try to maximise $ from fans like us. 

eg. Fox release Alien Box set first. all fans have to buy the box set regardless u like Alien 3 &4. aftter all hardcore fans spend the big buck, Fox will then only release the individual disc for each movie.  few years later, they repack the whole thing & come out with like xx year aniversary edition without adding much feature.

New Line is even worst, relaese the Theatrical version first, then he exytended version.

I did ot know the extra are in DVD.

Did you ever regretted that you have not bought a released title which is far less important to others but not for the fans of the movie itself.

For an example, now you might have fancied getting , say.. "A Prophet Blu-ray" but others don't fancy the movie for some unknown reason but you liked it and eventually missed it during a reasonable offer price.

Is there any similar experiences thus far?

i would recommend PLASMA 60" at reasonale $ vs the expensive LED, if u are more into film than digital.

based on my experience, BD made more dif in SIZE  than brand & class. Said if u have 42" LCD now, n u got 2 choices, 1 - bigger size Plasma, 2 - better quality LED, i would said the impact is bigger in SIZE, than quality, which means u upgrade to a bigger size is better than u upgarde to a better quality at the same size.

When i switch from 42" LCD to 60" LG plasma, the impact is really great. all the BD details & the scope of the view has changed.
actually, i am also a PIC guy over sound guy, i spend RM20K on PIC, but only RM5K on sound.

Does The Last Emperor (Criterion Collection) come in full 5.1 DTS MA or just 2.1 DTS MA? Can anyone confirm on this ?

I am somewhat disappointed by the lack of surround sound for this Criterion Collection.......... PQ is nothing to shout about too......
