QUOTE(johnbluraylover @ Mar 29 2011, 03:28 PM) NEW LINE - very cheap/lousy tactic to release the Extra in DVD. afterall, LOTR is masterpiece & the disc is a must, how could NEW LINE Studio do this to us? besides, they are charging us at a very high $ & we do not mind of paying, at least give us good quality. Marketing strategy, mate. Part and parcel of biznessss. At the end of the day, customers have the choice whether to purchase or not.bad studio always try to maximise $ from fans like us. eg. Fox release Alien Box set first. all fans have to buy the box set regardless u like Alien 3 &4. aftter all hardcore fans spend the big buck, Fox will then only release the individual disc for each movie. few years later, they repack the whole thing & come out with like xx year aniversary edition without adding much feature. New Line is even worst, relaese the Theatrical version first, then he exytended version. I did ot know the extra are in DVD. A bad studio would be one who holds a knife to your neck and forces you to buy it |

QUOTE(sKyWiR3pT3lTd @ Mar 31 2011, 12:05 PM) Would like to ask all a question. Gangs of New York - 12.99 @ AMZ US in Aug-Sept 2010. Now 25.99 Did you ever regretted that you have not bought a released title which is far less important to others but not for the fans of the movie itself. For an example, now you might have fancied getting , say.. "A Prophet Blu-ray" but others don't fancy the movie for some unknown reason but you liked it and eventually missed it during a reasonable offer price. Is there any similar experiences thus far? |

QUOTE(johnbluraylover @ Mar 31 2011, 01:14 PM) SKY, Shouldn't the size of the screen depend on the distance from one's seating position? No point getting bigger size if you're sitting too close to the screen. Then the only impact then will be a negative one to one's eyesight. i would recommend PLASMA 60" at reasonale $ vs the expensive LED, if u are more into film than digital. based on my experience, BD made more dif in SIZE than brand & class. Said if u have 42" LCD now, n u got 2 choices, 1 - bigger size Plasma, 2 - better quality LED, i would said the impact is bigger in SIZE, than quality, which means u upgrade to a bigger size is better than u upgarde to a better quality at the same size. When i switch from 42" LCD to 60" LG plasma, the impact is really great. all the BD details & the scope of the view has changed. actually, i am also a PIC guy over sound guy, i spend RM20K on PIC, but only RM5K on sound. |

QUOTE(johnbluraylover @ Apr 1 2011, 11:59 AM) Have you got The Lives of Others? German film - Winner of Best Foreign Film 2006 at the Oscars.Fantastic movie which is a bit slow at the start but really builds up at the last 30 mins or so and the ending is fantastic. It's about the East German intelligence unit - the Stasi, and how they literally 'spy' into the lives of East Germans before the Wall came tumbling down in 1989. Not a war/violent flick but more of drama. The BD release has good PQ and a good 30 mins interview with the director which was very insightful. Do check it out, bro, since you're buying every single BD under the sun anyway |

QUOTE(johnbluraylover @ Apr 3 2011, 09:34 AM) CRITERION collection on SEVEN SAMURAI is cool. however, the pic quality is just not up to the HD standard. I have this but yet to watch. If Criterion can't do it up to HD standard (to borrow your phrase), who can? By the way, has anyone watched this one? Johnny Mad Dog. Available from Amz Fr |

QUOTE(galantorian7116 @ Apr 4 2011, 05:25 PM) Does The Last Emperor (Criterion Collection) come in full 5.1 DTS MA or just 2.1 DTS MA? Can anyone confirm on this ? 2.0 only, boss. No boom boom for your woofer also.I am somewhat disappointed by the lack of surround sound for this Criterion Collection.......... PQ is nothing to shout about too...... But it's a dialog-heavy movie,so... Better than John Wayne's The Searchers BD - 1.0 only |

QUOTE(valho @ Apr 6 2011, 04:51 PM) Some CS won't give u refund and just ask you to wait, so you'll need to show them you are not satisfied with that then your case will probably get escalated and you'll get some compensation My experience so far is that they would refund me the shipping costs in the event of a delay, so that's a pretty fair deal to me |

QUOTE(johnbluraylover @ Apr 8 2011, 03:13 PM) as quoted by the seller: Haha. You forgot the old age of Mr. De Niro himself This is the special edition, not in packing or the disc itself, it is special in the "way of delivering", ROBERT DE NIRO is gonna to personnaly deliver the disc to u by driving the actual TAXI from the movie TAXI DRIVER, from NEW YORK to your home. Because of the old age of the TAXI & Mr. Niro & als the long distant from New York to your home town, we therefore estimate the delivery time would be 30 to 50 days. Thank you, from I PARCEL |
