Finished The Hills Have Eyes 2 just now................. totally a waste of time ! It is nowhere near THHE 1. Story line is weak, and there is no acting at all from the cast. Should have watched MU vs Man City instead.

To make your Philips BDP3100 region free (this works on a BDP3100/05 purchesed in the UK in June 2010)

1. Make sure there is no disc in the tray when you switch on.
2. Press "home" key on remote control.
3. Enter number "1389310".
4. Switch off. Wait a few seconds and then switch on...now region free.

Region Free Coding

Has anyone tried this ? Oh, by the way, it works only for providing region free dvd............

OK. Will wait for a day or two.

Guess my new year joy of receiving THHE is shortlived, THHE is one of the two shipments sent by AMZ UK for my 31 January order. I received THHE two weeks ago, alas, but this other despatch never come.......

Yup! I'm aware of that......

I'm just saying.... Most of the people I talk to... And most salesman would put DTS as a benchmark... Not many people recommend DD
*
Actually, if you were to do a blind test comparing DTS 5.1 and DD 5.1, you should be able to pick up the difference. And if you were to blind test between DTS MA 5.1 and DD 5.1, you should be able to recognize who the clear winner is. The difference is very obvious. Don't see anything wrong to choose DTS over DD.

However, i would rate DTS MA and DD TrueHD on a same or similar performance field. DD TrueHD performs very much better than DD.

Just to share my experience - I have ordered more than 10 times through AMZ UK. Excellent service

One parcel went missing - suppose to receive it on 14th Feb. Email them and the response

"The estimated delivery date given for this order was February 14th.

I appreciate the time you have taken to bring this to our attention. Unfortunately there can sometimes be unforeseen delays and as this parcel was not sent via a trackable method, I would in this case ask that you kindly wait until February 22nd at the very latest. This is the maximum time that you will be asked to wait, and your parcel may still be delivered before this date.

Amazon.co.uk takes full responsibility should your order not arrive by the date above, please contact us again on the above date by using the following link and we will assist you further:"

So I will be emailing them again tomorrow and hopefully they can send a replacement.
*
Thanks for sharing your experience.

Having waited till 5pm yesterday for my missing shipment, i decided to write to AMZ UK for any remedial actions. To my delight, i received a prompt reply within 15 minutes of my email. These were what they wrote :

QUOTE
Thank you for contacting us at Amazon.co.uk with your concern.

I'm sorry to learn that you have not received the order #202-7013252-7383568.

Please accept my sincere apologies for any disappointment this experience has caused. I understand that you entrusted us to deliver this order on time and sorry to learn that in this case, we've not met your expectations.

Please understand we try hard to deliver all the orders in time to the customers. However, as you already know we are online retailer and we totally depends on carriers to deliver the package and in spite of all of our efforts, there can sometimes be unforeseen delays which are beyond our control which result in packages being delivered much later than the estimated delivery date.

To compensate for this delay, I have requested a refund to your payment card for this purchase in the amount of 8.04 GBP which are your postage charges. Refunds usually go through within 2 to 3 business days and you will see this amount credited on your next statement. On the date the refund is completed, we'll send you an e-mail message confirming the date, amount and payment details.

Moreover, we request you to wait until February 27, 2011 for receiving your order.

In case, if your order isn't delivered to you by February 27, 2011, please use the following link to let us know and we'll take appropriate actions.

Gulp.......... really ? Would they really do that ? But anyway, all i want is to get my BDs. tongue.gif

QUOTE(wiNd @ Feb 22 2011, 09:34 AM)
if your estimated delivery date is 21 Feb 2011, please allow another extra 3-5 days before writing to them.

u r using Standard Shipping, not courier express, so dont expect it arrive directly on that day...moreover it depends on our local Pos Malaysia's efficiency.
*
In that reply email, i was asked to wait for a further few days untill 27th February, after which if i still have not received anything, then i can make final report to them. I totally din't expect them to respond (refund shipping cost) to me so fast.......... blush.gif

Will they ever charge if the item arrives after been refunded?

Don't think they are incurring any loss thru this, i guess they should have an insurance to cover this kind of non-delivery.
Just my 5 cents............... tongue.gif

For the shipping from AMZ UK that i have yet to receive, the 7 days waiting period requested by AMZ is over yesterday. I wrote to them this morning around 8.30am to confirm non delivery of my order. I received a reply less than an hour (i guess it is still midnight in UK).

On top of refunding my courier fees, they will re-send my order at their cost. I am happy with it, just a bit disappointed could not watch the movies over my Chinese New Year break.
