yeap... baraka is definitely demo tier material... not so  much a movie or documentary even... more like... a collection of moments... very trippy...

oh really, tell me 'bout it... it's pretty Hi-Definition alright; that my slow PC can't even move.... 

Special Edition is remastered and in BD50 with more extra as describe below:

But it seems having error transfer pointing out where over expose issue previously but on recent package it seems correct.

If you get the recent one, I think no problem and it is far better than old transfer once those error corrected.

It seems already corrected the issue, now I want the Special Edition!  Who want my normal edition...  .hmmm.. ....

i just pre-oder a tron legacy 3D movie from amazon.But how can there was no error since my money in my visa debit card is only left about RM8.The question is can i use Maybank Visa debit card.second how would i know when they will debit my account.

As expected for the price Scott Pilgrim offered, the slip definitely would be stripped off. I believe Inception, The Expendables, A-Team or likely Kick Ass , etc still comes with Sleeve cover..

MIMIC - directed by GUILLERMO DEL TORO, good scifi horror, released by NEW LINE same year with DARK CITY, both suffer in box office, PIC is B-, no remastered & very dark movie, SOUND is better in DTS-HD 5.1 
FROM DUSK TILL DAWN - directed by Robert Rodriguez, with George Clooney & Q. Tarantino - the pic is very good quality, A-, sound very good too, US Vivendi might release this title soon, so hold your horses
LIFE IS BEAUTIFUL - u can find the review in Blu-ray.com, very good quality both in pic & sound, & very good italy movie
CHOCALATE - 1080I, but very good PIC quality
CONSTANT GARDENER - Pic B+, however no subtitle, very dificult to watch as it is heavy dialoge driven movie
THE CELL - I read from the forum u all love "THE FALL", i think u guys should already knew THE CELL, both directed by TARSEM SINGH. a very beautiful psycho thriller with J.Lo, again u can find the review at Blu-ray.com, pic & sound both B/B+, again no subtitle & zero extra feature.

I watch the above BD with my Optoma HD86 projector, so the effect is dif watching at HD LCD/LED/Plasma.

Just made another order for 6 more titles, all in STEELBOOK & DIGIBOOK packing, will comment when arrive.

All this re-releases sickening!

Thanks for the recomendation, u got good taste. Cinema Paradiso is the standard version, i would like to wait for the 3 hours extended cut. I really love the movie score, got the sound track & been enjoying for 10 yrs.
Please comment more after u watch it.

Have u seen Europe made WWII movie - DOWNFALL, KATYN, NORTH FACE, MAN OF WAR? all europe made WWII movie are very realistic.

I also recommnding German Scifi "THE CARGO" & "THE LIVES OF OTHERS", Spanish Thriller "HIERRO", "THE ORPHANAGE".
Just revisited 'THE MIST' while waiting for my "WALKING DEAD" arrive. Very good movie & BD.

Today both my wife and mom ask me two questions which I am unable to answer and probably you can share your experience to answer them

Question 1 - Of all your BD collection, you have not even watch half of them and yet you are continuing your purchase, shouldn't you watch all first before making the next batch of purchase?

Question 2 - Of those you have watched, how likely are you to re-watch it again and again and they are most likely to be stored in the cabinet to collect dust - so what's the point of buying so many BDs

Well, I am lucky to say that affordability is not an issue but I seriously do not know how to answer those questions. Please help!

i was once required by the MALAYSIA CUSTOM to apply for FINAS license on the disc i bought, so i went to the government dept & applied it. really troublesome.

Actually i did not choose DHL, i choosed the cheapest postage in AMZ Canada, but for some reason AMZ Canada has been very generous to use the 1st priority mail-DHL express. 

it only took 5 days to reach & only cost me C$3.55/disc. if i were to choose this speed/service in US, i would have to pay at leat U$8/disc. thank u AMZ CANADA. 

somehow, the CUSTOM officer in DHL just like the "FINAS" cert, so, i have to go again. i been there 2 years ago. Fortunately there was a very nice & gentlmen officer there & he approve all my movie without asking much. What i need is to pay RM2/disc. I hope the officer still there.

this is not an arguement but i think it is really subjective on this topic. I understand some are more into Pic & some are into sound. but if we say a basic average & equal in between, i would argue for 5.1 set-up.

my opinion is as follow:

BD offer 1080p pic quality, so we need HD 1080P  plasma/LCD/LED or projector. The HD ready should not hv quality same with Full HD.

BD offer 5.1 surround. so the movie was designed to utilise the 5.1 set-up. The sound has been designed, say the dialoge from center, music from 2 front channel, & the surround effect from the back, like PEARL HARBOR, BANDS OF BROTHERS, etc.

It might not be a must,but it would be at least a proper set up to received all the sound data from the BD & present it out.

in 1979, when FRANCIS FORD COPPOLA released the APOCALYSE NOW at 5.1 (very few first wave of movie in 5.1 format) he actually wanted to forbidden some cinema to show the movie cause those cinema lacking of the set-up.

again, this is my personnel opinion.

Shouldn't the size of the screen depend on the distance from one's seating position? No point getting bigger size if you're sitting too close to the screen. Then the only impact then will be a negative one to one's eyesight. 

bro, u might want to check the postage $, i think is not same as disc, i am not sure, last time my wife wanted to use my AMZ US to buy book, at the end we gave up, i forgot reason, it could be high postage.
