driving 681 with e7/e9 combo...listen to metallica s&m....the high is just too harsh...just not suitable for that kind of music?
*
I find the highs of 668B a bit harsh too...

normally coz of superlux driver range can go very high and very low, ppl tends to dislike the extreme high end of the spectrum that cannot be heard previously with other headphone.

but with 681, that shouldnt be the case. so maybe your setup not sync with 681 or they are bright.
*
However I tried using the Maverick D1 tube out to my secret amp then hooking it up to my 668B, it seems to have "calmed" the harshesness thanks to the tube's darkness. Might be worth a try with the 681 as well.

I also find the 668B bit too bright/too harsh but depends on the music listened to I guess
But I'm still okay with that cos I hear lots of details now.. plus how bad a song can be too if you ask me!  blink.gif  brows.gif

Yes, i love the details too.. Especially when playing dark blues/jazz songs. Its outperforms my IE8 as it is simply too dark. Also, it's soundstage wins over by a huge margin. However, singers such as Olivia/Fish Leong where their voice are crystal clear to begin with, sometimes will become a little too harsh esp. the highs....

Not PcWork recabled version... sure kenot fight lah. PcWork Recabled KSC75 is damn geng leh. Donch pray-pray...

If anyone can still lurve Oliva after using 668B = deaf; lousy Engrand speaking; never heard a well recorded vocalist before; or hamsap lou. drool.gif

You guys must try Pop Pop Music's CDs (e.g. Love's Tapestry, 2V1G, jz8, Brasileiro, Pusaka) with Superlux. Their singers & musicians are superb talents recorded with audiophile quality, and mastered by good sound engineers. You will melt in a puddle of eargasm.
Some more help to support local audiophile talents.
------
That's probably the HD660. 660 is pretty widely used in the recording sector. Not surprising to see shoe string TV crews using HD660 or studios using them.

While I agree that Olivia's recording definately does not sound well on the 668B, I disagree that she's a poor singer. Recording might be badly done though. Her aldums sounds good on my Senns IE8 and Senn HD650 (when I tested it out in Jaben's).

But 668B definately does JZ8 justice while it was too dark for me Senn IE8.

Having said that, the 668B will corroborate what the 'real audiophiles' have been saying all along.... that Pavarotti must be a pretty lousy singer cos he got bad Englud pronounciation. Or maybe these 'real audiophiles' are just being delusional.  whistling.gif

Agreed mate. I listen to English pieces by Yao Shi Ting as well. Even thought her England is not Powderful, I enjoyed her voice. The mispronounciations can be irritating at times, but hey, I mispronounce all the time.
