just did the "tissue mod" and "ear pad mod" and the sound quality and comfortableness of the HD681 just elevated

This is the end result:

user posted image

A short tip on what i did:
1. the pads covering the driver MUST COME OFF! too big difference d
2. tissue: 6 cuttings used, fold into 3 cuttings and twist it, put it behind the pads, and your ears will be comfortable without fear of "stuff" getting into the phone

2 choices: HD681 or HD668B, btw the "B' in the end refers to "deep & tight bass"

hey ssyycc, wondering 1 thing, and no obvious answers despite numeros times asking:
with my PC on an X-Fi card, connecting to HD681, do i need an amp to amplify some sound details which the X-FI card MAY not be able to do? simply put it: with amp better or don't need?

Why not go straight for Shure SRH840?
It sounds superb for vocals (well, that's the only few songs I tested it with).
*
you gotta consider the price la bro, i get a bundle offer from Walabies, which is hippo amp + shure440 for RM 500 only

Added on April 20, 2011, 4:29 pmFYI after i get my bundle, i will maybe, juuuuust maybe, sell off my superlux

PMing you.

Advice for all Superlux users, pair it with nice amp and you will impress by how good it will sound.  smile.gif

After reading reviews for the new models. I don't know what to feel about expensive headphones anymore. I think SuperLux just rewrote the price/performance matrix. XD

got my new shure srh440, and will compare both srh and hd681, paired with hippo box+ amp, a review will come after i tested all music genres

Added on April 21, 2011, 3:26 pmfingers crossed hoping they can match out each other, then shure will become "shure loser"

QUOTE(ADJ @ Apr 21 2011, 03:29 PM)
just wondering, any place to audition the superlux?
*
i think nobody except Trio (and maybe couple people) only carries Superlux, but if you are( somehow crazily coincident) in Kota Kinabalu, EastCon at Karamunsing has one or 2 HD681 left, and can audition there

Added on April 21, 2011, 4:34 pmokay afer i tested the shure srh440, it is awesome in ASIO playback, but kinda shady in movies(1.4GB movie BR-Rips tested), and kinda flats out in COD4 audio, true audio playback can

Added on April 21, 2011, 4:38 pmnow the HD681 is kinda advantageous in it's treble and pitch in music playback, but loses out on the mid and bass, makes it in a form of "__/\" EQ style, game wise is nice to have the ak sound realistic then of shure440, movie is nice with pitches and vocals but shallow in bass related effects like "kaboom" sounds

so: gaming i will use HD681, audio SRH440, movie will depend what movie it is, mostly will fit SRH440

hi guys, recently heard about superlux while browsing through headfonia.

really interested in 668B. but i am mainly using it on my iphone and laptop only. will it be okay?

and also i listen to a wide range of music from rock to latest pop songs to acoustic and also classical and jazz. so i''m kinda looking for a flat eq kinda headphones.
*
you can get it for real good prices now , but for a boost, add-on an amp, elevates the sound
