QUOTE(SiLVeRHybRiD @ Apr 13 2011, 11:42 AM) all u need is a pair of socks~ step by step:- 1. removed the old hd668B earpad. (u can skip tis if u jus wan to overcome sweaty hot ear problem, works fine and quite comfy, most importantly tis steps oni need less than 3 min to mod ur earpad~XD) 2. grab ur NEW, i repeat NEW, in case u wan some "nice smell" then go ahead with ur current old socks. cover the earpad area by enlarge the entrance of the socks. 3. if u nvr removed old hd668b earpads, jus cut the extra parts of socks and put the extra parts into the old earpad* 4. put abit of cotton or sponge (or both), then wrap the content with the socks, and remember, CUT THE SOCKS LONGER FOR LATER FOLLOW 3rd STEP. 5. and viola! ur new earpads DONE!! ENJOY~~ This post has been edited by sosot000: Apr 13 2011, 01:53 PM |

QUOTE(SiLVeRHybRiD @ Apr 13 2011, 12:11 PM) if u jus mod ur earpads, thr wont have any difference, unless u replace the piece of thin sponge or u add in sumthing which will likely block some noise from the songs, u may need to try several times for ur preference, the material u can chose are thin piece of cotton, tissue, cloth, thicker sponge and many more, unleash ur creativity~~ try chose diff colors socks and make ur hd668b more YOURS~ Added on April 13, 2011, 12:17 pm QUOTE(jackstrom @ Apr 13 2011, 12:14 PM) yup, but be careful when chosing the socks u wanna use, cos if u chose wrong material, it may cause higher and faster heat up. hapi DIY-MOD guys and enjoy the result of ur hardworks~~ not necessary using socks, u can use the driving sunguard arm glove, which will be easier to wrap the earcups, and more color and design---ie: LACE~~ This post has been edited by sosot000: Apr 13 2011, 12:22 PM |

QUOTE(williepoh @ Apr 13 2011, 12:53 PM) ic thanks, use the cotton and warp it to circle? and put few sponge and can be that size ordy? quite amazing the point is that u needa cut nicely and sticks the cotton and sponge with double-sided tape or sumthing else, and most imprtantly, MEASURE b4 u do it.Added on April 13, 2011, 1:30 pmhahaha all ppl missing, busy modding~~ This post has been edited by sosot000: Apr 13 2011, 01:30 PM |

ya is quite difficult as the cotton was so KACAU! but for comfy, it was the best material~ and the thickness and shape of the sponge do MEAN alot to the earpad, the easy way is to buy a LARGE piece of sponge, so u oni need to cut a hole on the sponge and it can nicely fit onto ur ear~~ u can use thicker sponge to create more room for ur ears (which i alr did it~~), with more space between the ear and the drivers, the sound seems like surrounding in the cans, it feel super nice when u listen to bassy songs~~ cos the bass does remains inside the cans longer(imaginations~~), will try to change the thin piece of cotton with sumthing else when i free today~~ addicted to mod headphones~ This post has been edited by sosot000: Apr 13 2011, 02:34 PM |

QUOTE(williepoh @ Apr 14 2011, 11:15 PM) ya, cos i made the earpad thicker for better air circulation inside the cans, and of cos some soft cotton to prevent extra sound leakage, now the cans sound so sweeet~~~~ Added on April 14, 2011, 11:20 pm QUOTE(tunertoobe @ Apr 14 2011, 11:16 PM) nope, i use cloth tis time, old sweater~ This post has been edited by sosot000: Apr 14 2011, 11:20 PM |
