QUOTE(jblaze @ May 31 2011, 12:58 PM) guys,i hav 3 option which is hd699,hd688b n hd681..which one is better for music, gaming n movies..i like if it has a better bass..put aside clamping issue from hd668.. it is very personal..i prefer hd681 over hd668b.. maybe due to the clamping force.. btw, does all of these headphone fully cover the ears? but so far the best is still hd381F + Fiio e11 |

QUOTE(darthkir @ Sep 26 2011, 05:07 PM) OK, here goes my brief A/B/C-ing of Superlux HD660/Samson SR850(Superlux HD668B)/Shure SRH840: Yup I agree that is why hd660 is on my fav list nowThe Shure is more neutral hence the monitoring classification, SR850 is the brightest and yet the bassiest of the three; something like a-U curve EQ, the HD660 have good balance among the three while remaining the most fun to listen to. The Shure is more refined & full in the mids, but the mids while very rich is a bit laid back, both HD660 & SR850 are forward with the SR850 slightly more. Depending on the vocal, sometimes the SR850 can be too much especially with women vocals. But instrumental/orchestra works best with SR850 mainly to its brightness and treble level. I prefer the HD660 for rock and most other music, while I guess should be suitable for hip hop also. SR850 is the best while not much in terms of soundstage reproduction. SR850 is the dryest, Shure is the most lush and sweet closely followed by the HD660. In conclusion, the most fun cans are the HD660, while the most neutral and refined is the Shure. SR850 (HD668B) is best for instrumental and soundstage. HD660 hits it just right for most kind of music and I think is the best among three. |

seriously in term of sound hd440 got the ala sennheiser feel that why i like it..but the look sucks..
hd668b and hd661 is basically the same with minor improvement on the sound but the design is a msjor overhaul..best looking but the little wonder hd572 is a good performer too for its price..the cheapest of all...suitable for portable use...the rest of the phone above is not portable at all.. |

hd572 got tight bass and it actually gives you on stage feel rather than in hall feel..after it is fold up roughly the size of my sennheiser hd238 ..

QUOTE(IwanAGP @ Oct 2 2011, 05:01 PM) i got very big head as well..no issue..if u can survive with hd668b then this is way way comfy compare to hd668b..the cable is thicker then my senn hd238 and akg k430!! wtf..but i pay premium for senn and akg.. the sound is more closer to ala akg style minus the bright treble. So i kinda of like this hd572 better cause for bassy song i like on stage feel but minus the overly bright note. The senn hd238 got wide sound stage so when i listen to black eye pea -boom boom pow it sound kinda of strange... |

QUOTE(darthkir @ Oct 3 2011, 10:45 PM) Yes, now testing it with JDSLabs CMOY. The amp instantly made the mids fuller and the bass a bit more defined but faithful to its Grado-ish character. Its forward, bright but definitely not harsh surprisingly with the female vocals ive been listening to since this afternoon. hmm i never try jdslabs cmoy.. i only try it with fiio e11.. i use bass boost setting and voila ..the bass is very punchy... |
