OK, here goes my brief A/B/C-ing of Superlux HD660/Samson SR850(Superlux HD668B)/Shure SRH840:

The Shure is more neutral hence the monitoring classification, SR850 is the brightest and yet the bassiest of the three; something like a-U curve EQ, the HD660 have good balance among the three while remaining the most fun to listen to.

The Shure is more refined & full in the mids, but the mids while very rich is a bit laid back, both HD660 & SR850 are forward with the SR850 slightly more. Depending on the vocal, sometimes the SR850 can be too much especially with women vocals. But instrumental/orchestra works best with SR850 mainly to its brightness and treble level. I prefer the HD660 for rock and most other music, while I guess should be suitable for hip hop also.

SR850 is the best while not much in terms of soundstage reproduction.  SR850 is the dryest, Shure is the most lush and sweet closely followed by the HD660.

In conclusion, the most fun cans are the HD660, while the most neutral and refined is the Shure. SR850 (HD668B) is best for instrumental and soundstage. HD660 hits it just right for most kind of music and I think is the best among three.

First impression, its Grado-ish, without the soundstage of course

Yes, now testing it with JDSLabs CMOY. The amp instantly made the mids fuller and the bass a bit more defined but faithful to its Grado-ish character. Its forward, bright but definitely not harsh surprisingly with the female vocals ive been listening to since this afternoon.

Try la with Fiio E11..  with C30 alone I test, I found it too bright for me...
Tomorrow I bring Fiio E11 and CMOY (with Class A opamp  ) for darthkir to test. His CMOY use only OPA2227 which is less bass  ).
