FAQS FOR GPS (GLOBAL POSITIONING SYSTEM)

A-GPS ( Assist GPS ) - Speed up lock time by retrieve gps location using data from server (Chargable 10cent per lock)
I-GPS (Integated GPS)- Use internal attenna to get a lock the gps (FREE ) but slow and you can choose to work with A-gps to speed up lock time
Network GPS -  Speed up constant lock to satelitte by using data from server ( Chargable up to RM5) per destination.
Bluetooth GPS - You can improve the GPS performance by using 3rd party GPS device but drain the phone battery very fast.

Added on January 26, 2011, 9:03 pmif u are on unlimited data plan a-gps or network gps doesnt make much difference at all

I cant wait to try this game

*
i think last time i got mention no such thing as i-GPS right? the term is just GPS if you mean internal GPS module without network connection to help on lock

btw i tried google, there's no detailed explaination on network GPS, can you please explain what is that? this term is totally new to me >.<

btw bluetooth GPS = connect to external device, and i think since only uses bluetooth persistent connection, the battery drain shouldnt be more then using built in GPS ler

Just got my N8 2nd hand from a rich friend for RM800. But he lost the cable. N8 camera beat my 3gs to dust.  laugh.gif
But for sms and internet surfing, 3gs seem more friendly. Anyways im new to symbian. Anything outstanding stuff to do with N8? I bought it from him because he is going offshore for few months.  biggrin.gif

mainly the camera, the rest would mostly be the same

because u are connecting to another device. The connectivity require power dont ya.
*
but bluetooth data trasmit only should be less power consuming then using GPS on the phone itself
i said in comparison ... since we are talking about GPS here, the battery by default already drain like water, bluetooth pairing with another device only receive and send data, the positioning is already done by your dedicated GPS device, i don see it to be consuming as much power as GPS ler

QUOTE(aspire2oo6 @ Jan 26 2011, 10:17 PM)
I have tried it on physical devices and the result is this including network gps. Try it yourself

you are saying you throw a bunch of terms out there and you dunno how to explain? seriously lar, since u already show the term up there and with brief description i assume you have certain understanding about the term lo... not sarcastic want you to explain, is really never heard of network GPS before and want to know, and what i got? sarcastic statement from you... very good, this is how you show your community supports

they better just focus on releasing an actual stable firmware instead of what we got in the initial N8 one... i don mind the delays, in fact, software stuff really hard to measure the completion date at times, so just let them work on a proper bug fix...
