sharing some of my recent stage shots. biggrin.gif

if only i had a f2.8 tele lens or the 135mm f1.8 prime then i could off my flash for awhile and take some shots without killing the colorful ambient light while maintaining high shutter and low iso.

An above average Hoya filter. Which should be good enough for your kit lens.

expensive filters won't improve IQ, but using CHEAP FILTERS will DEFINITELY DEGRADE IQ and INTRODUCE MORE FLARE AND HAZE AND OTHER STUFF.

for my part, i use filters so that i can throw my lens cap away in bag while knowing my lens' front element is protected.

its very time wasting put on and take off a lens cap and then have to stuff it into your pocket or in bag. the moment is already gone by then. i also do not comprehend why some people like to put their hood back ways while shooting. i means its understandable if you want to keep it in bag and to save space but why they doing that while shooting? look cool or plain stupid? it totally interferes with the zooming ring(this does not applies to prime though, but then again why put it if you don't wanna use it?).

buying a good quality UV filter which can live up to robust use(scratch resistant) is important here. anyway, small scratches on the filters won effect IQ anyway. i still can afford to change badly scratched filters every 1-2 years but certainly not changing zeiss/G lenses every single year.

sorry guys, emo day today.

i am shooting portrait in room...at first i am using F2.2 in A mode...without any flash on iso 800...nicely lit..but i want to make some creative lighting portrait..so i use my F42...i just turn it on and let be Fully Auto..and attached onto my body..in Fill-Flash..A mode F2.2 iso 800...come out not well lit..without flash is so much nicer..then i tried to switch it to 1/32 power..come out super damn overbrighten.. cry.gif

just ignore that la..i cant even make a normal well lit picture with a F42..what a LOL!.. doh.gif ..flash problem or my problem?..isnt the fully auto mode can at least give a decent normal output(correct exposure)?
*
ok, so what's your definition of a well lit picture? why not you post your picture here then we comment lor. very hard to guess leh blink.gif correct exposure depends on many factors also ma.....

QUOTE(evilhomura89 @ Feb 15 2011, 04:59 PM)
if more competition, should be cheaper ma
simple economics, cheaper = higher demand and more sales to offset the lower nett profit due to cheaper price
*
melaka rental cheaper, that's why he can afford to give cheaper prices.

Ahpingko, you are totally confused. My advise is, forget everything you know about or don't know about all these flash photography, and then go back to P mode(including auto Iso as well).

Try to shoot one event, entirely on P mode, but try to differentiate the wAy you Bend your flash gun(direct/bounce). Take note how you adjust your flash gun, is it 90/45/60/75 degrees? When you come back, take note of the settings. Remember which setting works and which doesn't or post here for comments.

Move on from there.
