Hi

Out of curiousity, I have flashed Overcome v1.2.0. After successfully flashing it, i went into recovery and it format the internal SD to EXT4 but IT says that MicroSD is not detected and its not formatted nor backup. My question is do I have to format my 16gb MicroSD to EXT4 after flashing to OC 1.2?

I have not unclocked it to 1.2ghz

My Quadrant test is getting 1660 and I saw that some of the user is achieving 18++. Any tweak to get this figure achieved.?
*
Some encountered your prblem so it was advised to format the microsd first using the tab b4 flashing the kernel- so i did.Actually they say you are suppose to run guadrant test three times to get the high scores. I dont bother. Maybe you can go into cwm recovrry to wipe cache partition then advance to wipe dalvik cache, then reboot. It will take a while to reboot since it's rebuilding cache. Maybe faster after that??.

Thanks for your feedback bro. Then i think my problem may due to the previous Richardtrip's Kernel that's i installed.
I just update to Overcome 1.2 and didn't do the fresh or wipe flash.
Maybe is time for me to the clean flashing by using Overcome 1.2 wipe version.
BTW, do i need flash back to Rotohammer JMI first?
*
Have used cwm to flash full overcome zip.Have to restore/install the apps though.

Wong : I suggest you reflash clean - that is what I did. Somehow when you directly flash Overcome 1.2 on top of existing Modaco Kernel - I noticed most obvious is the temperature. Even at stock 1 GHz my battery temperature on charge hovers about 38 to 42 degree. On normal operation modes was averaging 34 to 38 degree. Call me kiasu or kiasi, I am just not comfortable with such higher temperature though it is said to be acceptable

So what I did was : in recovery mode - clear cache partition, clear dalvik cache, clear data/factory reset. After reboot, I switch off. Go back to recovery only flash the full 1.2.0 zip.
Then I reinstall back my apps and restore some data using MyBackupPro. More tedious way

Immediately I noticed till today: at default 1 GHz - operating temperatures 28 to 32 degree ; while charging 34 to 36 degree. It is about at least a 5 degree difference
*
@Benny : this is what i did. But at default 1 ghz, the batttery was 36deg and not the usual 30deg (when i went back to modaco kernel for a couple of days last week). What has gone wrong? maybe i need to hard reset ? which is the messy loh.

Come to think of it , I didn't shut down after wiping caches etc in cwm, I went straight to flash full overcome zip. Is that the problem?

It works although The menus are kinda slow at 1ghz . Maybe you should download and install from market again.

Downloaded again and its working now.

Anyway, what's the 'normal' battery temperature for our Tab actually? hmm.gif
*
God knows. For instance, played some gun bros earlier and the batt temp was 38deg and the screen felt really hot. Now i;m charging and the temp is 39deg but the screen is cool. WTH. Even when i set to default 1ghz witout uv it;s around 35-37 deg and gets warm. Benny says he can get 30deg.and below.
I stuck my tab into the glove compartment (of my car) and I managed 24 deg - lol.

Just wondering, can I flashed back my Tab to the original stock ROM? I didn't make any backup btw.
*
Yes, you can.You mean rom from samfirmware.I tried it the other day
Jk5 but failed-no dbdata.Anyway, couldn't remember where i had kept it so gave up. That 's the problem with samfirmware. Selling already?

im try flash back to stock rom using rom from samfirmware.com and now my tab stuck at samsung booting animation....  cry.gif
at the boot it sometimes vibrates few times....
*
Switch off phone. Press volume down and hold, then press power on. When samsung logo appears release all buttons. It's now in download mode although you will still see the samsung logo. Flash rom using odin with pit file and re-partition.

Actually you should flash rotohammer jme v4 or jmi v2 instead of samfirmware rom.

Oh, so means Overcome is not compatible with KIES. Cannot connect means, when I connect the USB, and when the prompt on my Tab pops up, I choose Samsung KIES but nothing happen. Mass Storage can connect though.
Yes, I do agree with you that it is crappy but I guess there's the only way I can sync back my contacts from my Microsoft Outlook right? Tried to sync to my gmail and sync back to my Tab but lost some of the contacts. Any other option can suggest?
Nope, I already disabled it.
*
I'm using the older version of kies (1.53 something). Normally have to open kies on desktop, never autorun for me. If still can't work have to uninstall and re-install, may then work.

Added on March 11, 2011, 7:41 pmi download the odin & overcome kernal 1.0 from http://www.apksmash.com/corodius/galaxytab.zip

then flash the kernal 1.0 using odin on download mode. when successful and boot into the home screen. i check the setting of my phone.

i am having overcome 1.2.2 but with 2.6.32.9 frank@OVERCOME #45.

overcome 1.2.2 should be either 2.6.32.9 frank@OVERCOME #95 or
2.6.32.9 frank@OVERCOME #89

LOL = =
*
Had that #45 too. I then flashed the kernel with cwm and got #89.

It just goes off (same like I press power on alone) so there is no menu
*

Thx for reply, dave.
Successful update to Kernel 2.0.1 OC-UV with Odin for previous 2.0 version.  biggrin.gif
Want try OC-UV after found good battery life on 2.0 version.
However, TAB was hang while playing Gameloft Modern Combat 2 game and few times hang while using xScope as internet browser.
Furthermore, TAB still found lagged while playing Fuit Ninja, although just a short lagging.
Hopefuly CMW problem will resolve again since all my nandroid backup still in SD card althought for safety, i backup all apps to Titatium Backup already.
*
Youre welcome.Perhaps you can try wiping all caches and battery stats.I find it improves thereafter, even battery life.

I'm using Overcome 1.2.3 + Kernel 2.0.1.
Does anyone here experience TAB hang while surf net using Dolphin HD or eScope browser?
Just curious is ROM, Kernel or apps problem?
*
I'll check for you tonight. I use miren but my daughter uses dolphin. I think Uncle Benny uses eScope

I'm on Fugutweaks. Used root explorer. Browsing and keyboard inputs seem better.
@klwong99: tried dolphin.it's ok. I had your prblem on overcome's previous kernel(non oc). Now im on oc capped at 1.2ghz and everything's good.Maybe you need to clear the caches and reflash your kernel again with cwm(the oc version).
