btw, i'm curious, has anyone here used the Xperia Arc Launcher yet?
*
I have the arc. The launcher is basic nothing great or exceptional. Widget of interest is timescape which i find though unique n flashy is horribly designed - looks great but poor practical value

how to know is ori or ap??

Some AP sets ( USA and certain Middle east countries ) cannot be used to do phone calls - avoid these. Now so much cheaper buy ORIGINAL - forget about AP

If you have Battery Life issues, try this first:
Turn the Tab off and charge to 100%
Unplug from charger and immediately boot into recovery by holding volume up & power button
Navigate to Advanced
In the Advanced menu, choose Wipe Battery Stats
Reboot Tab normally and Enjoy a freshly calibrated battery

Still cant find the Advance....any idea?
*
Which recovery are you on ??? This is only on the cook rom by Overcome or Modaco kernel

Can the SGT 7 run honeycomb?
*
Theoretically YES but depends on whether Samsung wants to release a upgrade to it - I'd say it will be more of a business strategy decision not so much on a consumer orientated basis. Samsung will be releasing HC based 8.9" and 10.1" Tabs ; it is possible the 7" Tab could be just their basic bread n butter line. Of course as TAB users here, all of us would like to have such an update. Anyways some guys at XDA are already working at a Honeycomb port-over but it still has some issues

how to fix this problem without using ODIN, can I use CWM?if yes how?

This is a radio file which can only be flash using Odin 1.7. Select PHONE only, no repartition, no pit

any different btw wifi and 3g version ? i mean in terms of rom , flashing etc .
*
So far all the roms development is for the 3G/WiFi versions. I'd think since the WiFi version is so new, it'd required a different rom type ; flashing methods will be the same

Lowyard - Malaysia - JXJK2 - FROYO JPJK2
And currently thinking whether to upgrade to overcome or not since I've experience installing unofficial gingerbread update for the galaxy s using odin so, hmm, what are the problems or instability that might occur if I install overcome? Thanks.
*
If you have experienced flashing the Galaxy S, rooting and flashing the TAB is quite similar. In any forum on any gadget - there are always users who complained about problems, lockup, freezes, instability etc but if one were to follow the steps correctly there shouldn't be any problem.
Many time such users " blame " the rom but seriously if one were to look at it properly if it is a rom issue, why is it not everyone complaining. In fact these whiners are usually minority
In layman's terms moving from stock rom to Overcome is just like getting one's 1600 cc car to perform as a 2000 cc car - you will only appreciate it when you have done it

For those thinking of getting the WiFi versions and wishes to use their phones as a WiFi hotspot - Froyo allows this function. You'd need to research your own phone for additional software.
Androids - will not be and issue at all ; if problems just install app WiFi thether
Symbians - Joikuspot
WindowsMobile - WMWIFRouter
Palm Pre - My Thether
Blackberry - not sure ; have not use BB 3 years already- lost touch of its progress. Blackberry ver6 has lots of additional featrures

EDIT : Oh btw TS I think you should edit the title as Dell Streak is now the most portable Android tablet.  tongue.gif
*
Dell Streak is a smartphone not a tablet. Those guys in the web who classified it as a tablet is just misinformed. I think i can justify this as i have been using the dell streak many months

hi guys, i am thinking of buying the 3g tab after 2 months. my question is will the price go down further or it will stay at its current state. the other question is will the tab get an upgrade to its camera like the 4g version with 5 mp ... and will the 4g version be available in Malaysia.

plz reply
*
I'd think the price is already very low. Just consider - when launched retail was RM 2699 original unit ( AP RM 2200 ), now the same original unit is only selling for RM 1599. How much more lower you think it will go ?? Those early birds are now cursing already with this new pricing

4G version in Malaysia - there is no 4G network in M'sia, so no chance this will be in. The only 4G is YES network which is only a pseudo not real 4G

Thanks very much for the feedbacks.

I'm thinking long term and make it convenient when i bring it around.

But i am quite surprise that it can fit into someone's pocket. It's sooo big....

But i love the size, mobility and application.
*
Depends on user's clothing. As my long pants is those baggy type - the TAB with book type casing fits in perfectly well in my side pockets. It also fits well in my casual 3/4 knee length shorts side pockets

Use superoneclick to root it. Please refer to front page for links nd more info how to make your Tab better. There is no need for separate discusiion or you can start a new thread. Everything functionwise is same only no 3G

Hi, I've been lurking on this Tab for some time.
Currently I am using HTC Desire & would like to ask 1 question related.

Do you guys (rooted SGT) use Setcpu to govern your GT for better battery performance?

For my Desire, I use Setcpu to govern my device by underclocking to below 400mhz (Stock is 1Ghz) while screen off. It do help to prolong the battery life.

Just to check if possible to prolong the battery life.

Hope I could get my SGT to replace my iPad (which I found it too big to lug around)
*
Yes you can use setcpu to overclock/underclock ( works only on certain cook roms ) and laso to control, battery life. There is also voltage control apps you can use

Anyone knows what is the fastest and easiest way to reproduce the post 1 to 4 to be put in a new thread v2. As there are so much details - the idea of copy and paste individually is very time consuming

QUOTE(0300078 @ Apr 21 2011, 12:03 AM)
which ROM for tab out there boost the performance of the Tab most?
*
These are the 3 roms that are reputable:

1. RFS file system : Rotohammer JMI : http://forum.xda-developers.com/showthread.php?t=939360
2. RFS or EXT4 : Modaco R1 : http://forum.xda-developers.com/showthread.php?t=941423
3. EXT4 - most versatile, full feature and very popular highly recommended : Overcome http://forum.xda-developers.com/showthread.php?t=932082

Overcome is now probably the most popular - his upgrades are often, every 1-2 weeks. His latest versions allow you to install recovery and change default RFS file system to EXT4

Read the links for details
