i fed oxbow cavy perfomance to hazel, she likes it but its makin her pee calcium a lot. Should i keep feeding her that or switch back to hagen? but i feel like hagen pellets are too big for her to munch
edit: forgot to mention that her pee is not grainy or coarse, so no worries about stones *phew*

QUOTE(xavi5567 @ Jun 9 2011, 11:40 AM) continue ur current oxbow pellet.. until 6 month and above.. it still can be fed after 6 month but in a 1:3 ratio (1 is ur current: 3 is the cuisine) peeing calcium is normal.. no worry there.. ok thanks

QUOTE(lum_yu_wat @ Jun 11 2011, 10:07 PM) you can practically get everything at Daiso stores.. wire grids, baskets (as a hay rack, if you want), connectors and/or cable ties, ceramic bowls, plastic bowls (just cut away an opening and turn it upside down, to make its hide house), fleece (100% polyester).. those morning towels, can get at practically any hardware store.. get some good hay, pellets, and 1 pig or 2, bring to a full boil and leave it to simmer for at least 20 minutes before serving.. oh wai- hmm what you planning to do with lil yu wat? My hazel is givng me lots of cockstares. especially when she hears noise. Once even after flipping herself while scratching =.= Is it normal for them to only eat leaves n not stalks of hay?

QUOTE(xavi5567 @ Jun 24 2011, 08:44 PM) washing fleece is easy only i teach u the easiest way.. buy 12 feet fleece(normal kain kapas) from ur local kedai kain... then cut them into the intended size.. u should be able to get at least 3 set... 1 week maybe u only use 2 set... buy a big 1-2 litre chlorox (i advice u to buy white colour fleece) when u change the fleece jus soak the fleece in chlorox soloution for 1 day.. after that rinse la.. no need brushing at all.. interchange ur fleece when washing or drying lor.. sounds like a plan, will try it out then. N issit ok to cut out empty tissue boxes n use them as tunnels? coz my housemate has few lying around

I'm planning to switch to timothy hay + cavy performance+ vege combo coz i'm worried about the white pee. That should be ok for a 3 month old piggy right? Somehow i don't think its safe even when it's not coarse.

k i notice my piggy jumping and running very fast around the cage for the past few days usually after the lights are off, first i thought she juz popcorning. But today she seemed react that way everytime i tried to spot clean her cage with the brush. Is that normal? Edit: After checking out some vids in utube, that's definitely popcorning. But why for spot cleaning? This post has been edited by maresh88: Jul 1 2011, 12:58 AM
