QUOTE(Princess90 @ Jun 7 2011, 11:41 PM) Oh my god. I really need HELP from forumers here regarding my guinea pig. u are feeding oxbow pellet timothy or alfafa? My guinea pig is slightly over 1 year old. Around 3 weeks ago, she was having fur loss. I brought her to Dr. Yeoh 2 times where they said its fur mites. They gave her some medicine the first time and asked me to go back in a week. The next week, they gave her the medicine to eat again. Her fur loss was fine but today I found out she is having this fur loss again. Her fur loss happens at her butt. I feed her Oxbow food, Oxbow hay, carrot, lettuce, cucumber once a while, baby tomatoes. Nothing wrong with her diet. I am suspecting the cat litters causing it as I had just changed her fleece blanket after her first fur loss. Please help me... Thank you ur diet lack vitamin b which is vital for hair / fur growth.. try introduce capsicum and celery or spinach and banana into the diet u can also give vitamin b for dog (hair care in a very small dosage.. ) |

QUOTE(Princess90 @ Jun 8 2011, 09:00 PM) I do feed capsicum. Forgot to list it down. yup hair lost is due to vitamin B.. some species need extra to care for their long hair.. and u need constant grooming as well.. if the hair loss is not serious until got bald patch it is still consider acceptable.. jus be sure to groom them once every 2 days.. as human ourselves suffer hair loss as well.. jus try go bath c how much u loss and swept the floor c how much u loss.. Timothy pellet. So is the fur loss still about the vitamin b??? I just pat her and brush her fur, more than 20 strands of fur came out. Last time only 1 or 2. |

QUOTE(lum_yu_wat @ Jun 10 2011, 12:45 PM) i just tried picking up my Yu Wat and cuddle with her.. she makes this sound, which supposedly mean she is happy, but she seems nervous.. though i cant be completely sure, since this is my first GP, anyone else care to share their experience? bonding well i c there.. tat is the sound of feeling syok.. as a note, she also makes the same sound when i stroke her back from head to tail, using my fingers like a comb. After a few stokes, she just seems to "melt" to the ground.. |

QUOTE(lum_yu_wat @ Jun 10 2011, 07:22 PM) cant be too sure.. coz she seems so reluctant to let me pick up... wat cage u r using? i use fleece as well.. same like u .. my piggy like to dig into the fleece as well.. hence i go buy another coroplast same size as my base and i wrap top part of the coroplast with the fleece then place on to the base.. then only place another layer of morning towel..anyways, im giving her a small piece of treat whenever she lets me pick her up and cuddle.. 1/4 slice of an apple.. should be a good idea, right? and i removed her dome already.. digging into/under the fleece towels now.. always have to re-line it every now and then... think its a good sign though... |

QUOTE(pink_baby @ Jun 11 2011, 03:50 PM) hi guys...i'm going to adopt a GP by next week, what should i need to get ready before I bring him home?? Hiding house is optional..u give him.. He will tend to stay in it lor.. u dont give him..he also like tat lor.. Nothing happen.. no out door keeping.. There is a risk he will be attack by cats or any other preditor.. U wanna keep outside ..it is best u have a rigid cage with small gap only.. Must be a close top 1.. If not.. There will be a risk lor..he's already 1yr +... is a hiding house a must?as i read from your post saying that they will become timid...by the way, they need hiding house to sleep or they can just sleep w/o any hiding area? and ah...can they keep outdoor in a cage?? thanks in advance for answering my question ^^ |
