I bought recipe book from Annabel Karmel...and I started off with carrots, apple, pears, broccoli..then I graduated to chicken + carrots + potato..or chicken + potato + apple..salmon + cheese..spaghetti bolognese.

My mom tried cooking porridge for my son as she used to cook for us..he didn't like it...so that's why i ended up cooking all those mat salleh style cooking. Till now he doesn't quite like the texture of porridge.

didn't try pureeing the porridge..but now since he's already 1.5yo..he's quite ok with just normal rice with food..I think he may like a little bit of rough texture. One thing i know for sure..is he loves fried rice! Even after eating his food..if we are eating fried rice..he would also wallop ours!

I started solids at exactly 6 months. Gave my son rice cereal but he doesn't like it..then tried heinz pureed carrot..and loved it..Attached Image

I agree with qarezma..cookign your own is way much healthier. I would make a batch and then freeze it in ice-cube tray..and only take out the blocks whenever i need it.

Yeah..he was choosy...never liked rice cereal or porridge..dunno why. But he took on well on the pureed vege and fruits..guess...it is sweet.

Nowadays, it's much easier coz I give him whatever we eat unless it's spicy food. He loves fried rice for sure..still don't really like porridge.

For the first time, I used blender to puree the food..later on..to encourage chewing I chopped using the chopper (same like blender but blade is different and don't need to add liquid when pureeing
