Cop shoots dead man who ran amok

SEREMBAN: Police shot dead a 31-year-old man who had ran amok and savagely attacked a policeman in a house in Taman Cempaka in Bahau.

The man, believed to be mentally disturbed, had earlier slashed the police sergeant several times on his head, chin and shoulder with a parang. The attack on Tuesday evening left Sjn Abdul Rahim Hamid, 50, with a fractured skull and several deep wounds which required stitches.

State police chief SAC Datuk Osman Salleh said another policeman at the scene had no choice but to open fire as the deceased continued to attack his colleague.

“A single shot was fired and it hit the man’s face. He died on the spot,” he told reporters.

SAC Osman said police had earlier received a call from the deceased’s mother about her son running amok.He said four policemen went to the man’s house to coax him to cool down.

“For three hours they tried to persuade the man to cool down but he refused to listen. As the policemen were about to leave the room where they had been talking, the man suddenly attacked Sjn Abdul Rahim,” he said.

He said another policeman had tried to subdue the victim with a Taser gun but it did not work.

“The sergeant could have been killed if his colleague had not acted fast and shot the amok. What happened is sad but the policemen were left with no other option as it happened so quick,” he said, adding that Sjn Abdul Rahim was sent to Jempol Hospital before being transferred to the Tuanku Ja’afar Hospital here.

On a separate matter, SAC Osman said police were trying to determine where a 37-year-old Chinese national, who was fighting for her life after being raped and assaulted, was studying. The woman, who was found unconscious by the roadside in Lukut on Friday, had entered the country on a student pass.

“We hope she will regain consciousness soon so that she can help us identify her attacker or attackers,” he said.

Technically you could modify a normal double barreled OnU or OnO 12G shotgun to fire both barrels at the same time. I can imagine the recoil, and whatever it hit would be turned into paste.

After decades of trying, last month in December 2010 the early warning plane Saab 340 AEW and Saab 340B model transport aircraft was landing at Wing 7 Surat Thani.

This is one of history's new Royal Thai Air Force because the Saab 340 AEW became the first pre-warning aircraft of the Royal Thai Air Force, and the Royal Thai Air Force is just one of the two Southeast Asian nation of Singapore Air Force aircraft, ordered the advance early warning.



Saab 340 AEW is a virtual eye on the sky to the Royal Thai Air Force, and the army of other Thai military with the ability to detect the radar system Erieye installed on the fuselage, which provides a radius of detection beyond 350 miles to make it able to detect the target and the target in the air on the surface and on the ground, such as aircraft, unmanned aircraft, ship or ground units, and can detect targets more than one thousand simultaneous targets.



The Saab 340 AEW can also send the information to be detected within the immediate unit commander. The commander can see the movement of the battle fully and timely.
