sifu sifu sekalian.... i want to ask, usually, how do u take landscape picture?? coz sky will overexposed n land will underexposed.

next question, if u hv 18-105 and 35mm will u get 55-300mm and 10-24mm? ok let say u love to take watever photo that u feel it is nice....

one more thing, why so many carry canon arournd?? hardly see nikon. im from kuching. how abt other places. canon is the best meh?? two weeks ago, i juz got my d7k, but one of my fren juz pissed me off.... He is indirectly insult Nikon. my head juz filled with (*^*&%&$#&^*&^(&&(^*$&$^&^()**)*_*_)^*&$^&#$^...........................!!!!!!!

Simple. Only if you need that range smile.gif

And, you'd need a Graduated ND filter to "darken" the skies to get a more balanced exposure together with the land smile.gif

Or tell you what, you can actually take 3 exposures using bracketing, and the merge them together to become a HDR picture brows.gif
*
if using ND filter it will darken the sky. so means the land will auto look better(brighter) than w/o using ND filter?? Bracketing.... hihi i hate doing it coz something it make a little blury on the grass or moving object.

one more thing, let say there is a big cactus with the background is the sky, for sure the cactus will be darker. without using the flash is there anyway we can get better detail on the cactus? sorry on my poor grammar.. hope u understand.. hihi thanks!!!!

for landscapes i usually use f/8 - f/11 ... and mostly landscapes are shot during the day so play around with your shutter speed as well ... i usually shoot at a shutter speed of 1/800 or 1/1000 secs at aperture f/8 - f/11 ... but its all trial and error usually & depends on the sun + clouds ... a ND filter will help as well ...
*
thanks for the info. means ND will help a lot for the overexpose on the sky and what we hv to do try to balance sky n land?? sometime i juz hate taking too much shadow.

Hey ppl, generally I find Nikon's pro lenses are much more expensive than Canon's. Any opinion on this? As I'm preparing to invest in one of the two system, any ladies or gentlemen mind to share his view? smile.gif

ps: I do find Nikon manufactures better camera tho.
*
why do you said Nikon produce better camera? i donno why a lot of ppl carry canon. but for myself, im carrying nikon d7k. my fren of mine who had his d300s for 2 years, he said nikon hv much improvement towards the body when he touched the d7k. well, i juz speechless coz this is my first dslr.

if get d7k, juz get the whole kit set directly. the difference wont be much. with the 18-105, u can use for so many things. though 18mm wont give u super wide but at least very good enuf. if not mistaken the different between with or without is only around RM600 or less. as you can see 2nd or used lens they are selling up to 800. u still earn 200. dont you think so?

so far i hv kit lens and 35mm with me... so happy with it. With those two lenses, i can get landscape, group photo, portrait, closeup(not macro), street, indoor, etc... of course in near future.. i will upgrade myself with accessories such as Cokin Filter. Later super wide angle lens ie 10-24mm. Well that is my plan. maybe for someppl its different. haha... hopefully i can get what i want!

hope i can start to learn landscape by next week. first of all i hv to get accessories first. such as different kinds of filters and tripod(sigh, til today i hvnt got one coz quite tight after spending RM6k++ for d7k+kits set, 35mm and sb700). so dry right now... sigh sigh~~~~ cry.gif cry.gif cry.gif cry.gif

after counting my ang pow money  rolleyes.gif , i decided to spend a little on some gears that i have planned previously,

here are the 2 options to choose for,

50mm f/1.4g nikkor or sigma 50mm f/1.4

or

a sb700 and a battery grip

Wondering what should i choose...  hmm.gif
*
BOTH! no flash... lot of shadows... hard to take indoor picture(unless high ISO)...... 50mm 1.4 can take good portrait. indoor with low light... so BOTH thumbup.gif thumbup.gif thumbup.gif thumbup.gif

18-200 worst than your 18-105.
Well, travel wise, it's a good lens. IQ, sorry. Nope.
*
why? coz of the picture quality? if like that better get 55-300mm and leave alone my current 18-105mm n dont sell it?
